I make oath and say that I am and that the above is, to the best of my knowledge, information and belief, a just and true Inventory and Valuation of the Property of the said Deceased at the time of death as far as I can at present ascertain.

To the Honourable the Supreme Court or one of the Honourable the Judges thereof:-
The petition of John Howell of New Perlican, fisherman, humbly sets forth as follows:
- Francis Howell late of New Perlican, Fisherman, deceased, died at that place in the month of December 1899 intestate, leaving him surviving Four children, George, since deceased who has left surviving him his widow & two children who reside at Old Perlican, Albert now living at New Perlican, Maria Janes living at St Johns and your petitioner herein.
- At the date of his death the said deceased was possessed of property within the jurisdiction of this Honourable Court of a value not exceeding $730.00 as will more fully appear by reference to the inventory hereto annexed marked "A", which is to be taken as a part hereof.
- Hereto annexed is a paper writing marked "B" signed by the said Albert Howell whereby he signifies his consent to letters of administration to the estate and effects of the said deceased being granted to your petitioner.
- No letters of probate to any last will nor letters of administration to the estate and effects of the said deceased have yet been granted to any person.
Your petitioner therefore prays that letters of administration to the estate and effects of the said deceased be granted to him.
And as in duty bound, he will ever pray.

DECEASED.
I, John Howell
of New Perlican, in the Electoral District of Trinity in the Island of Newfoundland, make oath and say, that
Francis Howell
late of New Perlican in the Electoral District of Trinity in the Island aforesaid, fisherman deceased, died intestate; that I will well and faithfully administer the estate and effects of the said deceased, by paying his just debts and distributing the residue of his estate and effects, according to law; that I will exhibit a true and perfect Inventory of all and singular the said estate and effects, and render a just and true account thereof whenever required by law so to do; that the said deceased died at New Perlican aforesaid on the day of December One thousand Eight hundred and Ninety nine; and that the gross value of the said estate and effects of the deceased is $730.00 dollars and no more according to the best of my knowledge, information and belief.
