To the Honorable the Supreme Court of
Newfoundland or one of the Honorable
the Judges thereof.

The petition of Sarah Kelly (formerly Sarah Collins) by her Solicitor, Martin W. Furlong

Humbly Sheweth

  1. William Collins, formerly of Placentia and the father of your petitioner, died at that place in or about the month of December 1881, intestate.
  2. At the time of his death the said William Collins was possessed of or entitled to certain lands and premises in Placentia.
  3. Administration to the estate of the said William Collins has not been granted by this Honorable Court.
  4. John J. Collins, the brother of your petitioner, has been in possession of all the property which was of his father, the said William Collins, since the death of the said William Collins.
  5. The said estate has never been divided or distributed and your petitioner has never received any share of the said land and premises.
  6. Your petitioner is desirous of instituting proceedings for the administration and distribution of the said estate and if the same be not instituted forthwith, the claim of her and other children of the said William Collins may be lost.

          Your petitioner therefore prays that this Honorable Court may be pleased to xxx the Clerk of the Court or some other fit and proper person to grant administration of the said estate of William Collins for the purpose of instituting and substantiating all such necessary proceedings and otherwise.
          And as in duty bound your petitioner will ever pray &c.
          Dated the 9th day of December 1901.
