In the Estate of John Collier deceased

I, Richard Furneaux of Rose Blanche in the Electoral District of Burgeo-LaPoile, make oath and say: That I believe the paper writing hereto annexed and marked by me to contain the true and original last Will and Testament of John Collier late of Rose Blanche in the Electoral District of Burgeo-LaPoile deceased: That I am the Executor therein named and that I will well and faithfully administer the estate and effects of the testator by paying his just debts and the legacies contained in his Will and by distributing the residue of the said estate, rights and credits according to law: and that I will exhibit under oath a true, full and perfect inventory of all and singular the estate and effects, rights and credits, of the testator and render a just and true account thereof whenever required by law so to do: that the testator died at Rose Blanche aforesaid on the 26th day of March one thousand nine hundred and one and that the gross value of the estate and effects, rights and credits of the said testator is Two thousand one hundred and forty dollars, and no more, according to the best of my knowledge, information and belief.

NOTICE

After three days from the date hereof application will be made to the Honourable the Supreme Court or to one of the Honourable the Judges thereof for Probate of the last Will and Testament of John Collier late of Rose Blanche in the Electoral District of Burgeo and LaPoile, Fisherman, deceased to be granted to Richard Furneaux of the same place, Collector of Customs, the Executor named in the said last Will
          Dated at Saint Johns this 19th day of April AD 1901.

I hereby certify that the notice on the other side hereof has been posted in the office of the Chief Clerk and Registrar on and since the19th day of April last past and the date thereof until this date, and that no caveat or other objection has been entered thereto.

I James Rideout of Rose Blanche aforesaid, Merchant, make oath and say that on the 19th day of March A.D. One Thousand Nine Hundred and one at Rose Blanche, aforesaid, I was present and did see John Collier, late of Rose Blanche aforesaid, Fisherman, the Testator named in the paper writing hereunto annexed, marked A, duly sign (by making his mark), publish and declare the said annexed paper writing as and for his last Will and Testament, in my presence and in the presence of Richard F. Mercer, the other subscribing witness thereto. That I and said Richard F. Mercer then and there signed our names to such Will as such witnesses, in the presence of the said Testator and of each other. That previously to the Will being so signed as aforesaid, by the said Testator and the said witnesses, it was read over to and approved of by, the said Testator in the presence of me and the said Richard F. Mercer and that at the time of the said execution of the said Will the said Testator was of sound and disposing mind, memory and understanding, to the best of Deponent's knowledge and belief.

I, John Collier, of Rose Blanche in the Southern District of Burgeo-LaPoile, fisherman, being of sound mind and understanding.
Do declare this to be my last Will and testament.
I hereby give and bequeath to my sister, Florence, my new trunk. To my sister Elizabeth, one trunk and combersans? to my brother Samuel, one Suit Clothing and my bed to my brother Martin - one Suit Clothing, and my rubber Coat to my father Samuel Collier, One pair Rubber Boots - to my brother Sandy, my bedstead - and the rest of my clothing to be shared as my mother may think fit.
The sum of One hundred forty dollars which I have in my trunk, together with my Life Insurance with the Mutual Life Insurance Co. of New York amounting to Two thousand Dollars, to be shared alike between my father Samuel Robert Collier my mother Hannah ?? my brother (illegible because of fold in page) Sandy and Charles & my sisters Sarah Styles, Elizabeth and Florence.
And I do hereby appoint Richard Fueneaux, Justice of the Peace of Rose Blanche to my Executor.

The petition of Richard Furneaux of Burgeo-LaPoile, Collector of Customs

Humbly Sheweth

That John Collier of Rose Blanche aforesaid, Fisherman, died at that place on or about the 26th day of March last past, having first made and executed his last Will and Testament which is hereto annexed, marked "A".
That under the said last Will and Testament your petitioner was appointed the executor thereof.
That at the time of his death, the said John Collier was possessed of property of the probable value of Two thousand one hundred and forty dollars.
That hereto annexed marked "B" is a correct inventory and valuation of the assets of the estate of the said John Collier, deceased.
That no Probate of the said Will, nor Administration to the estate of the said John Collier has been at any time applied for or granted.
Your Petitioner therefore prays that Probate of the said last Will and Testament of the said late John Collier may be granted to him.
And as in duty bound your petitioner will ever pray &c
