In the Estate of Eliza Christian Deceased

I Alexander Christian of S. Johns in the Electoral district of S. Johns in the Island of Newfoundland, Draper, make oath and say that Eliza Christian late of Old Perlican in the Electoral District of Bay de Verde in the Island aforesaid, deceased, died intestate; that I will well and faithfully administer the estate and effects, rights and credits of the said deceased, by paying her just debts and distributing the residue of her estate and effects according to law; that I will exhibit a true and perfect Inventory of all and singular the said estate and effects, rights and credits, and render a just and true account thereof when required by law so to do; that the said deceased died at Old Perlican aforesaid on the 19th day of April one thousand nine hundred and one; that at the time of her death the said deceased had a fixed place of abode in the Island aforesaid; and, that the gross value of the said estate and effects, rights and credits of the said deceased is nine hundred and five dollars and no more, according to the best of my knowledge, information and belief.

The petition of Archibald Christian of St. Johns, Draper,

Humbly Sheweth

That Eliza Christian late of Old Perlican in the district of Bay de Verde, spinster, died at that place on the 19th day of April, last intestate.
That said intestate left her surviving as next of kin two brothers Alexander Christian of Old Perlican aforesaid and your petitioner and the children of a deceased brother and a deceased sister.
That said Eliza Christian had a life interest in a sum of $1000.00 bequeathed under the Will of her late father.
That the said sum of $400.00 is on deposit in the Newfoundland Savings Bank in the name of the said deceased.
No probate or administration has been granted to any will or to the estate of said deceased.
Your petitioner therefore prays that Letters of Administration of the estate of the said Eliza Christian be granted to Alexander Christian of Old Perlican aforesaid Dealer.

We Alexander Scott of St. Johns Shop Keeper and George I? Hudson of St. Johns Shop Keeper severally make oath and say:
That we are the proposed sureties on behalf of Alexander Christian the intended administrator of all and singular the estate and effects, rights and credits, of Eliza Christian deceased, in the within bond named, for the faithful administration of the said estate and effects, rights and credits, of the said deceased; and I the said Alexander Scott for myself make oath and say that I am worth property to the amount of One thousand dollars, over and above all encumbrances and over and above what will pay my just debts, and every other sum for which I am now bail, or for which I am liable as surety or endorser or otherwise, and I the said George I. Hudson for myself, make oath and say, that I am worth property to the amount of One thousand dollars, over and above what will pay my just debts, and every other sum for which I am now bail and for which I am liable as surety or endorser or otherwise.

Know all Men by these Presents: That we Alexander Christian of St. Johns, Dealer, Alexander Scott of St. Johns, Shop Keeper, and George I. Hudson of St. Johns, Shop Keeper are jointly and severally bound unto our Sovereign Lord, Edward VII, by the Grace of God, of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland, King, Defender of the Faith, &c, in the sum of Two thousand dollars, to be paid to our said Sovereign Lord, the King, His Heirs and Successors for which payment well and truly to be made, we bind ourselves and each of us for the whole, our and each of our executors and administrators, firmly by these presents. Sealed with our seals.

Dated the 26th day of June in the year of our Lord 1901.

The Condition of this obligation is such that if the above named           Christian as administrator of all the estate and effects, rights and credits of Eliza Christian late of Old Perlican in the Electoral District of Bay de Verde in the Island of Newfoundland deceased, (who died on or about the 19th day of April A.D. 1901) do, when lawfully called on in that behalf, make, or cause to be made, a true and perfect inventory of all and singular the estate and effects, rights and credits of the said deceased, which have or shall come into the hands, possession or knowledge of him the said Alexander Christian or into the hands or possession of any other person or persons for him and the same so made do exhibit, or cause to be exhibited, into the Registry of the Supreme Court of Newfoundland, whenever required by law so to do, and the same estate and effects, rights and credits, and all other estate and effects, rights and credits of the said deceased at the time of her death which at any time after shall come into the hands or possession of him the said Alexander Christian or into the hands or possession of any other person or persons for him, do well and truly administer according to law, that is to say, do pay the debts which the said deceased did owe at her decease, and then the Legacies contained in the said Will annexed to the said Letters of Administration to the said committed, so far as such property will thereunder extend and the law bind and further, do make, or cause to be made, a full true and just account of his administration within twelve months or sooner if thereunto required, and all the rest and residue of the property shall deliver and pay unto such person or persons as shall be by law entitled thereto; then this obligation to be void and of no effect, or else to remain in full force and virtue.
