In the Estate of Margaret Brown late of Fermeuse, Widow, DECEASED

I Patrick Walsh of Fermeuse in the Electoral district of Ferryland in the Island of Newfoundland, Fisherman, make oath and say that Margaret Brown, late of Fermeuse, in the Electoral District of Ferryland, in the Island aforesaid, deceased, died intestate; that I will well and truly administer the estate and effects, rights and credits of the said deceased and pay her debts, so far as her Goods will extend: and that I will exhibit a true, full and perfect Inventory of the said Goods of the deceased, and render a just and true account thereof whenever required by law so to do; that the said deceased died at Boston, in the United States of America, on the 21st of October, one thousand eight hundred and ninety five and that at the time of her death, the said deceased had a fixed place of abode in the Island aforesaid; and, that the gross value of the said estate and effects, rights and credits of the said deceased is Three hundred dollars and no more, according to the best of my knowledge, information and belief.

Know all Men by these Presents: That we Patrick Walsh of Fermeuse, Fisherman, William Jackman of same place, Fisherman, and William Trainor of same place are jointly and severally bound unto our Sovereign Lord, Edward VII, by the Grace of God, of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland, King, Defender of the Faith, &c, in the sum of Six hundred dollars, to be paid to our said Sovereign Lord, the King, His Heirs and Successors for which payment well and truly to be made, we bind ourselves and each of us for the whole, our and each of our executors and administrators, firmly by these presents. Sealed with our seals.

Dated the 27th day of November in the year of our Lord 1901.

The Condition of this obligation is such that if the above named Patrick Walsh as administrator of all the estate and effects, rights and credits of Margaret Brown late of Fermeuse in the Island of Newfoundland, Widow, deceased, (who died on or about the 21st day of October A.D. 1901) do, when lawfully called on in that behalf, make, or cause to be made, a true and perfect inventory of all and singular the estate and effects, rights and credits of the said deceased, which have or shall come into the hands, possession or knowledge of him the said Patrick Walsh, or into the hands or possession of any other person or persons for him and the same so made do exhibit, or cause to be exhibited, into the Registry of the Supreme Court of Newfoundland, whenever required by law so to do, and the same estate and effects, rights and credits, and all other estate and effects, rights and credits of the said deceased at the time of her death which at any time after shall come into the hands or possession of him the said Patrick Walsh or into the hands or possession of any other person or persons for him, do well and truly administer according to law, that is to say, do pay the debts which the said deceased did owe at her decease, and then the Legacies contained in the said Will annexed to the said Letters of Administration to the said committed, so far as such property will thereunder extend and the law bind and further, do make, or cause to be made, a full true and just account of administration within twelve months or sooner if thereunto required, and all the rest and residue of the property shall deliver and pay unto such person or persons as shall be by law entitled thereto; then this obligation to be void and of no effect, or else to remain in full force and virtue.

We William Jackman of Fermeuse, Fisherman, and William Trainor of the same place, Fisherman, severally make oath and say:
That we are the proposed sureties on behalf of Patrick Walsh, the intended administrator of all and singular the estate and effects, rights and credits, of Margaret Brown, deceased, in the within bond named, for the faithful administration of the said estate and effects, rights and credits, of the said deceased; and I the said William Jackman, for myself make oath and say that I am worth property to the amount of Six hundred dollars, over and above all encumbrances and over and above what will pay my just debts, and every other sum for which I am now bail, or for which I am liable as surety or endorser or otherwise, and I the said William Trainor, for myself, make oath and say, that I am worth property to the amount of Six hundred dollars, over and above what will pay my just debts, and every other sum for which I am now bail and for which I am liable as surety or endorser or otherwise.

TO THE HONOURABLE THE SUPREME COURT OR TO ONE OF THE HONOURABLE THE JUDGES THEREOF.

          The petition of Patrick Walsh of Fermeuse in the Island of Newfoundland, fisherman, humbly sheweth as follows :-
          That Margaret Brown late of Fermeuse, widow, deceased, died at Boston in the United States of America, in the year 1895 intestate.
          That said deceased left her surviving one son William Brown, who died in Cuba in the year 1898 intestate.
          That said William Brown was unmarried and left no issue.
          That at the time of her death said deceased Margaret Brown was possessed of property within the jurisdiction of this Court situate at Fermeuse, and consisting of a fishing room and a small piece of land of the probable value of $300.00?
          That your petitioner was the husband of the late Jane Shallow a niece of the said Margaret Brown being daughter of her sister Mary Shallow, the said Jane Shallow being the only near blood relative of the said Margaret Brown.
          That the said Jane Walsh wife of your petitioner died at Fermeuse aforesaid on the 31st of October last past intestate leaving her surviving four children all under the age of seven years.
          Petitioner therefore prays that Letters of Administration to the estate of the said Margaret Brown may be granted to him and as in duty bound he will ever pray.
          Dated at St. Johns this 5th day of December A.D. 1900
