NEWFOUNDLAND
St. Johns To Wit          I Henry Thomas Searle of St. Johns in the Central District, Farmer, do swear that I believe that Elizabeth Searle, late of S. Johns, aforesaid, Married woman, deceased, died without a Will; and that I will well and truly administer all and every the Goods of the said deceased and pay her debts, so far as her Goods will extend: and that I will exhibit a true, full and perfect Inventory of the said Goods of the deceased, and render a true account of my Administration into the Registry of the said Court, within six months from the date hereof, or when I shall be thereunto lawfully required; and that the whole of the Goods, Rights, Chattels, Assets, Credits and Effects of the said deceased of which she died possessed, within the jurisdiction of this Court, do not, according to the best of my knowledge, judgment and belief, amount to the value of One hundred dollars.

Be it Remembered That on this 27th day of February in the 63rd Year of the Reign of our Sovereign Lady Victoria, by the Grace of God of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland, Queen, Defender of the Faith, &c, and in the Year of our Lord One Thousand Nine Hundred personally appeared Henry Thomas Searle of S. Johns, Farmer, Thomas Carnell of S. Johns, Wheelwright, and Robert Hamlin of S. Johns, Blacksmith, and did acknowledge themselves to be held and firmly bound to our said Sovereign Lady the Queen, Her Heirs and Successors, in the penal sum of  Two hundred dollars to be had, made and levied on his Goods, Chattels and Effects, jointly and severally, if Default is made in any of the conditions following :---

Now the Condition of this Obligation is such, that if the above bounden Henry Thomas Searle as Administrator of the Estate and Effects of Elizabeth Searle late of S. Johns, aforesaid, married woman, deceased, do make or cause to be made, a just, true, and perfect inventory of all and singular the Goods, Credits and Effects of the said deceased, which have or shall come to the hands, possession, or knowledge of him the said Henry Thomas Searle as such Administrator or to the hands or possession of any other person, or persons, for him and the same so made do exhibit, or cause to be exhibited, in the Supreme Court of Newfoundland, at or before the 27th day of August, next ensuing the date hereof; and the said Goods, Chattels, Credits and Effects, and all other the Goods, Chattels, Credits and Effects of the said deceased, at the time of her death, or which at any time afterwards shall come into the hands or possession of him the said Henry Thomas Searle or to the hands or possession of any other person or persons for him shall well and truly administer according to Law, and further shall make, or cause to be made, a just and true account of his said Administration, on or before the 27th day of February which will be in the Year of Our Lord One Thousand nine hundred and one, and afterwards from time to time as he shall be lawfully required. And all the rest, residue, and remainder of the said Goods, Chattels, Credits and Effects, which shall be found remaining upon the said Administration Account, the same being examined and allowed by the said Supreme Court of Newfoundland, shall and do pay and dispose of in due course of Administration, or in such a manner as the said Court shall direct; then this obligation to be void and of no effect, or else to be and remain in full force and virtue.

WE Thomas Carnell of St. Johns in the Central District of Newfoundland, Wheelwright, and Robert Hamlin of S. Johns in the Central District of Newfoundland, Blacksmith, severally make oath and say:
That we are the proposed sureties on behalf of the intended administratrix of the property of Elizabeth Searle, late of S. Johns, Married woman, deceased, in the within bond named, for the faithful administration of the said property of the said deceased; and I the said Thomas Carnell of S. Johns in the Central District make oath and say: that I reside at St. Johns aforesaid and am worth property to the amount of Two hundred dollars, over and above all encumbrances and over and above what will pay my just debts, and every other sum for which I am now bail, or for which I am liable as surety or endorser or otherwise,
AND I the said Robert Hamlin for myself make oath and say, that I reside at S. Johns and am worth property to the amount of Two hundred dollars over and above all encumbrances and over and above what will pay my just debts and every other sum for which I am now bail or for which I am liable as surety or endorser or otherwise.

          I, Thomas Searle, of St. Johns, aforesaid, farmer, husband of the late Elizabeth Searle, do hereby consent and agree to Letters of Administration to the estate of the said late Elizabeth Searle, deceased, being granted to Henry Thomas Searle, son of said deceased.

TO THE HONOURABLE SUPREME COURT OF NEWFOUNDLAND
OR TO ONE OF THE HONOURABLE JUDGES THEREOF.

The petition of Henry Thomas Searle of St. Johns, farmer, humbly sheweth as follows:
That your petitioner's late mother, the late Elisabeth Searle, died at St. Johns, aforesaid, on the 19th day of January A.D. 1900, Intestate.
That she left her surviving her husband, Thomas Searle, of St. Johns, aforesaid, farmer, and your petitioner.
That at the time of her death the said deceased was possessed of property within the jurisdiction of this Honourable Court consisting of a deposit receipt or Saving's Bank Book amounting to the sum of one hundred dollars.
That hereunto annexed is the written consent of Thomas Searle, husband of said deceased to your petitioner being appointed administrator of said estate.
That neither probate to any last will nor letters of administration to the estate of the said deceased has as yet been granted to any person.
Your petitioner would therefore pray your Honourable Court to grant him letters of administration to the estate of said deceased and as in duty bound he will ever pray.
