St. Johns
To Wit I Richard Clancey of St. John's, Accountant, do swear that I believe this to be the true Last Will and Testament of Honora Power late of S. Marys in the Southern District, widow, deceased. I do further swear that I will pay all the Debts and Legacies of the said deceased so far as her Goods shall extend, and the law shall bind me, and that I will exhibit a full, true and perfect Inventory of all and every the Goods, Rights and Credits of the deceased, together with a just and true account into the Registry of the Supreme Court of Newfoundland, when I shall be lawfully called thereto. And I do further swear that the whole of the Goods, Rights, Chattels, Assets, Credits and Effects of the said Honora Power, deceased, and of which she died possessed, do not, according to the best of my knowledge, judgment and belief, amount to the value of Six thousand dollars

Three days from date hereof application will

Widow, deceased, to be granted to Richard Clancey the Executor named
in the Will.

This is the last Will and Testament of me Honora Power, of St. Marys, Widow. After the payment of all my just debts and funeral expenses, I give and bequeath all the property of which I may die possessed of, as follows:
- To my sister Mary B. Harney the sum of One thousand six hundred dollars.
- To the Very Reverend Dean Ryan or his successor as Resident Clergyman at St. Patrick's Church, St. Johns, the sum of Four hundred dollars, towards the completion of Tower of said Church.
- To the Reverend Superioress [sic] for the use of the orphanage at Belvedere the sum of Ten dollars.
- To the Rev. Stephen O'Driscoll Parish Priest of St. Marys, the sum of Eighty dollars.
- To the Convent of St. Mary's the sum of Eighty dollars.
- To the Rev. Stephen O'Driscoll or the parish priest of St. Marys the sum of Twenty dollars for a High Mass for the repose of my soul.
- To my Executor, hereinafter named for a monument and railing to be erected in the R. C. Cemetery at St. Marys in memory of my late brother, James Harney J. P. the sum of One hundred dollars.
- To the Rev. Lawrence Vereker? parish priest of Ferryland, the sum of Twenty Dollars.

- To the very Rev. Dean Ryan, St. Johns, the sum of Twenty dollars.
- To the Rev Wm. Jackman, St. Johns, the sum of Twenty dollars
- To His Lordship, Bishop of St. Johns, the sum of Forty dollars for a High Mass for the repose of my soul the day of my burial.
- To my Executor the sum of One thousand four hundred dollars, the said amount to be invested by him and the annual interest derived therefrom to be paid to the Roman Catholic Bishop of St. Johns for an annual High Mass to be celebrated for the repose of my soul and the souls of my deceased husband, Edmund Power, my Father, Mother, Brothers and
sister.
- I give another additional Four hundred dollars to my sister Mary B. Harney, making in all the sum of Two thousand dollars.
- All the rest and residue of my property of every description, I give and bequeath to the Rev. Stephen O'Driscoll Parish Priest of St. Marys
I hereby nominate and appoint Mr. Richard Clancey at present employed
by Mr. J. D. Ryan of St. Johns, my sole Executor of this my last will and Testament.
St. Marys, March 22nd 1900.

presence of us who in the presence of each other, have hereunto
subscribed our names as witnesses, the same having been first read
over and explained to said Testatrix.

To Wit I James D. Burke of St. Mary's in the Southern District, Roman Catholic Teacher? make oath and say that on the 22nd day of March A.D. One Thousand Nine Hundred at St. Mary's, aforesaid, I was present and did see Honora Power, late of St. Mary's aforesaid, the Testatrix named in the paper writing hereunto annexed, marked A, duly sign (by making her mark), publish and declare the said annexed paper writing as and for her last Will and Testament, in my presence and in the presence of Thomas Bowen? of St. Mary's aforesaid, Planter, the other subscribing witness thereto. That I and said Thomas Bowen then and there signed our names to such Will as such witnesses, in the presence of the said Testatrix and of each other. That previously to the Will being so signed as aforesaid, by the said Testatrix and the said witnesses, it was read over to and approved of by, the said Testatrix in the presence of me and the said Thomas Bowen aforesaid, and that at the time of the said execution of the said Will the said Testator was of sound and disposing mind, memory and understanding, to the best of Deponent's knowledge and belief.

The Petition of Richard Clancey of St. Johns, Accountant
Humbly Sheweth
- That Honora Power late of St. Mary's in the Island of Newfoundland, Widow, died there on the Eleventh day of April A.D. 1900, having previously made and executed her last Will and Testament, which is hereto annexed marked "A" and which has been duly proved.
- The said deceased, in and by her said will, appointed your petitioner her Executor
- The said deceased at the time of her death was possessed of property of the probable value of Six thousand dollars.
- That no Probate of said Will or Letters of Administration of the Estate of said deceased have been previously applied for.
- Your petitioner therefore prays that probate of will of said deceased be granted to him.
And as in duty bound he will ever pray.
