TO THE HONOURABLE THE SUPREME COURT OR TO ONE OF THE HONOURABLE THE JUDGES HEREOF.
The petition of Anna Vale McKenzie of St. John's widow humbly sheweth as follows:
That your petitioner's late husband the late Alexander McKenzie late of St. John's Merchant deceased died at that place on or about the 18th day of October last past.
That previous to his death the said deceased made and executed his last will and testament which is hereunto annexed proven upon the affidavit of James Jardine one of the subscribing witnesses thereto.
That at the time of his death the said deceased was possessed of property within the jurisdiction of this Honourable Court of the probable value of one thousand dollars.
That neither probate to any last will nor letters of administration to the estate of the said deceased has yet been granted to any person.
Your petitioner would therefore pray your Honourable Court to grant her probate to the will of her late husband the said deceased and as in duty bound she will ever pray &c. &c.
