Minnie E. Gill of St. Johns in the Island of Newfoundland, Widow, John BrayAyre, of the said place, Merchant, and Marmaduke G. Winter, of the said place, Merchant, before our Sovereign Lady the Queen in Her Supreme Court of Newfoundland personally appearing, do acknowledge themselves, and each of them doth acknowledge herself or himself, to owe to Donald M. Browning, Esquire, the Chief Clerk of the Supreme Court of Newfoundland, the sum of Six Thousand Dollars, to be paid to him, his executors or administrators, and unless they do pay the same, they, the said Minnie E. Gill, John Bray Ayre, and Marmaduke G. Winter do grant, and each of them doth grant for herself or himself, her or his executors and administrators that the said sum of Six Thousand Dollars shall be levied, recovered and received of and from them and each of them, and of and from all and singular the messuages lands, tenements and hereditaments, goods and chattels of them and each of them wheresoever the same shall or may be found. Witness our said Sovereign Lady Victoria, by the Grace of God of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland Queen, Defender of the faith, and so forth, in the Supreme Court of Newfoundland, the 29th day of January 1900.

Whereas by an order of the Supreme court of Newfoundland made in a cause wherein Minnie E. Gill and Frederick D. B. Gill are plaintiffs and J. Augustus Clift as Administrator of the Estate of Harrison R. Hayward, deceased, George A. Hutchings, and R. Jardine Freebairn, Executors of Leander N. Gill, deceased, are defendants, and dated the 20th day of January, A.D. 1900, it was ordered that upon the above bounden Minnie E. Gill first giving security she should be appointed Receiver of the rents and profits of the real estate, and to collect and get in the outstanding per-

sonal estate of the said Leander N. Gill in the said order based: and whereas the Judge hath approved of the above bounden John Bray Ayre and Marmaduke G. Winter as sureties for the said Minnie E. Gill, and hath also approved of the above written recognizance with the under written condition as a proper security to be entered into by the said Minnie E. Gill, John Bray Ayre, and Marmaduke G. Winter, pursuant to the said order and the general orders of the said Court in that behalf, and in testimony of such approbation the Judge hath signed an allowance in the margin hereof:

This recognizance is approved of and allowed."

NOW THE CONDITION of the above written recognizance is such that if the said Minnie E. Gill do and shall duly account for all and every the sum and sums of money which she shall so receive on account of the rents and profits of the real estate, and in respect of the personal estate of the said Leander E. Gill, at such periods as the Court or a Judge shall appoint, and do and shall duly pay the balances which shall from time to time be certified to be due from her as the said Court or a Judge hath directed or shall hereafter direct, then the above recognizance shall be void and of none effect, otherwise the same is to be and remain in full force and virtue.

TAKEN AND ACKNOWLEDGED by the above - named Minnie E. Gill, John Bray Ayre, and Marmaduke G. Winter this 29th day of January 1900,
