I hereby certify that the notice on the other side hereof was posted in the office of the Chief Clerk and Registrar on the day of the date thereof and has remained so posted until the day of the date hereof and that no caveat or other objection has been entered thereto.

Notice

After three days from the date hereof application will be made to the Honourable the Supreme Court of Newfoundland or to one of the Honourable the Judges thereof for Letters of Administration to the Estate and effects of Margaret Dogherty late of West Somerville, Massachussetts in the United States of America Widow deceased to be granted to George T. Rendell of St. Johns, Newfoundland, Merchant.
          Dated the 5th day of February A.D. 1900

To the Honourable the Supreme court of Newfoundland or to one of the Honourable the Judges thereof.

The petition of George Dogherty of Boston, Massachussetts in the United States of America, cabinet maker. Frank E. Dogherty of Cambridge-port, Massachussetts [sic] aforesaid cabinet maker and Charles M. Dogherty of West Somerville, Massachussetts aforesaid, piano case maker

Humbly Sheweth

  1. That Margaret Dogherty late of Somerville, Massachussetts Widow died there on or about the 14th day of August A.D. 1899 intestate leaving her surviving as next of kin four sons viz: William F. Dogherty of Montreal, Canada and your petitioners, all of whom are resident out of Newfoundland.
  2. That said deceased was at the time of her death possessed of property within the jurisdiction of your Honourable Court of the probable value of $1300.00
  3. that no probate of any Will nor administration to the Estate of said deceased has been granted to any person.

          Petitioners therefore pray that Letters of Administration to the Estate of said deceased may be granted to George T. Rendell of St. Johns in the Island of Newfoundland, Merchant.

          And as in duty bound they will ever pray etc.

We Francis B. Rendell of St. Johns in the Central District of Newfoundland and Charles MacKenzie? Harvey of St. Johns in the Central District of Newfoundland severally make oath and say:
That we are the proposed sureties on behalf of the intended administratrix of the property of Margaret Dogherty late of Somerville Mass. United States deceased, in the within bond named, for the faithful administration of the said property of the said deceased;
And I the said Francis B. Rendell of St. Johns in the Central District make oath and say: That I reside at St. Johns aforesaid and am worth property to the amount of Twenty six hundred dollars, over and above all encumbrances and over and above what will pay my just debts, and every other sum for which I am now bail, or for which I am liable as surety or endorser or otherwise,
And I the said Charles MacKenzie Harvey for myself, make oath and say, that I reside at St. Johns and am worth property to the amount of Twenty six hundred dollars, over and above what will pay my just debts, and every other sum for which I am now bail and for which I am liable as surety or endorser or otherwise.

Be it Remembered That on this 19th day of March in the 63rd Year of the Reign of our Sovereign Lady Victoria, by the Grace of God of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland, Queen, Defender of the Faith, &c, and in the Year of our Lord One Thousand Nine Hundred

personally appeared George F. Rendell of St. Johns, Merchant, and Francis E. Rendell of St. Johns, Accountant, and Charles MacKenzie Harvey of same place, Merchant, and did acknowledge themselves to be held and firmly bound to our said Sovereign Lady the Queen, Her Heirs and Successors, in the penal Sum of Twenty Six hundred dollars to be had, made and levied on their Goods, Chattels and Effects, jointly and severally, if Default is made in any of the conditions following :---

Now the Condition of this Obligation is such, that if the above bounden George F. Rendell as Administrator of the Estate and Effects of Margaret Dogherty late of Somerville, Massachussetts, United States of America, Widow, deceased, do make or cause to be made, a just, true, and perfect inventory of all and singular the Goods, Credits and Effects of the said deceased, which have or shall come to the hands, possession, or knowledge of him the said George F. Rendell as such Administrator or to the hands or possession of any other person, or persons, for him and the same so made do exhibit, or cause to be exhibited, in the Supreme Court of Newfoundland, at or before the 19th day of September next ensuing the date hereof; and the said Goods, Chattels, Credits and Effects, and all other the Goods, Chattels, Credits and Effects of the said deceased, at the time of her death, or which at any time afterwards shall come into the hands or possession of him the said George F. Rendell or to the hands or possession of any other person or persons for him shall well and truly administer according to Law, and further shall make, or cause to be made, a just and true account of his said Administration, on or before the 19th day of March which will be in the Year of Our Lord One Thousand nine hundredand one and afterwards from time to time as he shall be lawfully required. And all the rest, residue, and remainder of the said Goods, Chattels, Credits and Effects, which shall be found remaining upon the said Administration Account, the same being examined and allowed by the said Supreme Court of Newfoundland, shall and do pay and dispose of in due course of Administration, or in such a manner as the said Court shall direct; then this obligation to be void and of no effect, or else to be and remain in full force and virtue.

NEWFOUNDLAND
St. Johns To Wit:          I George T. Rendell of S. Johns, Merchant, do swear that I believe that Margaret Dogherty late of Somerville, Massachussetts, [sic] The United States of America, Widow, deceased, died without a Will; and that I will well and truly administer all and every the Goods of the said deceased and pay her debts, so far as her Goods will extend: and that I will exhibit a true, full and perfect Inventory of the said Goods of the deceased, and render a true account of my Administration into the Registry of the said Court, within six months from the date hereof, or when I shall be thereunto lawfully required; and that the whole of the Goods, Rights, Chattels, Assets, Credits and Effects of the said deceased of which she died possessed, within the jurisdiction of this Court, do not, according to the best of my knowledge, judgment and belief, amount to the value of One thousand three hundred dollars.
