St. Johns
To Wit I Elvina Winsor of St. John's Widow, do swear that I believe this to be the true Last Will and Testament of John J. Winsor of St. Johns Master Mariner deceased. I do further swear that I will pay all the Debts and Legacies of the said deceased so far as his Goods shall extend, and the law shall bind me, and that I will exhibit a full, true and perfect Inventory of all and every the Goods, Rights and Credits of the deceased, together with a just and true account into the Registry of the Supreme Court of Newfoundland, when I shall be lawfully called thereto. And I do further swear that the whole of the Goods, Rights, Chattels, Assets, Credits and Effects of the said John J. Winsor deceased, and of which he died possessed, do not, according to the best of my knowledge, judgment and belief, amount to the value of Three hundred and fifty dollars

This is the last will and testament of me John Jennings Winsor of St. Johns Newfoundland, Master Mariner.
I give devise and bequeath unto my beloved wife, Elvina Winsor, all and singular my property of every description of which I shall die possessed, both real and personal, to hold the same and every part thereof for and unto her sole and separate use and benefit forever.
I hereby revoke all other and former wills by me at any time made and do declare this to be my last will and testament.
I appoint my said wife Elvina Winsor sole executrix of this my last will.

and for his last will and testament in the
presence of us, the subscribers on the
twenty ninth day of January A.D. 1880,

To Wit I George Mac??? Johnson of St. Johns Barrister at Law make oath and say that on the 29th day of January A.D. one thousand eight hundred and eighty I was present and did see John Jennings Winsor late of St. Johns, Master Mariner, the Testator named in the paper writing hereunto annexed, marked A, duly sign, publish and declare the said annexed paper writing as and for his last Will and Testament, in my presence and in the presence of J. O. Fraser Jr. Student "at" Law, the other subscribing witness thereto. That I and said J. O. Fraser then and there signed our names to such Will as such witnesses, in the presence of the said Testator and of each other. And that at the time of the said execution of the said Will the said Testator was of sound and disposing mind, memory and understanding, to the best of Deponent's knowledge and belief.

The Petition of Elvina Winsor of St. Johns, Widow
Humbly Sheweth
- That John J. Winsor late of St. Johns, Master Mariner, died there on or about the year 1886, having previously made and executed his last will and testament which is hereto annexed , marked "A" and which has been duly proved.
- The said deceased in and by his said will appointed your petitioner his executrix.
- The said deceased at the time of his death was possessed of property of the probable value of Three hundred and fifty dollars.
- That no Probate of said will or Letters of Administration of the Estate of said deceased have been previously applied for.
- Your petitioner therefore prays that Probate of Will of said deceased be granted to him.
And as in duty bound she will ever pray
