St. Johns To Wit I Frank E. Rendell of St. John's Accountant do swear that I believe this to be the true Last Will and Testament of Susan Jane Rolls late of S. Johns in the Central District Widow deceased. I do further swear that I will pay all the Debts and Legacies of the said deceased so far as her Goods shall extend, and the law shall bind me, and that I will exhibit a full, true and perfect Inventory of all and every the Goods, Rights and Credits of the deceased, together with a just and true account into the Registry of the Supreme Court of Newfoundland, when I shall be lawfully called thereto. And I do further swear that the whole of the Goods, Rights, Chattels, Assets, Credits and Effects of the said Susan Jane Rolls, deceased, and of which she died possessed, do not, according to the best of my knowledge, judgment and belief, amount to the value of Seven hundred dollars

St. John's To Wit I James P. Blackwood of Saint Johns Clerk make oath and say that on the seventeenth day of May A.D. one thousand eight hundred and ninety five at Saint Johns I was present and did see Susan Jane Rolls late of Saint Johns the Testatrix named in the paper writing hereunto annexed duly sign, publish and declare the said annexed paper writing, Marked A, as and for her last Will and Testament, in my presence and in the presence of Frank D. Lilly the other subscribing witness thereto. That I and said Frank D. Lilly then and there signed our names to such Will as such witnesses, in the presence of the said Testatrix and of each other, and at the time of the said execution of the said Will the said Testatrix was of sound and disposing mind, memory and understanding, to the best of my knowledge and belief.

This is the Last Will and Testament of me, Susan Jane Rolls of Saint Johns in the Island of Newfoundland Widow :-
I appoint Mr. Frank Rendell of Saint Johns aforesaid sole executor of this my Will hereby revoking all former testamentary writings
I direct that my said executor shall sell and dispose of my dwelling house situate on Bannerman Street in Saint Johns aforesaid as soon after my decease as he shall consider it advisable and to the best advantage and out of the moneys arising out of the said sale he shall first pay to my cousin Charles Hamlyn Junior the sum of thirty dollars and to my neice Elizabeth Rolls of Bonavista in the Island aforesaid daughter of Joseph Rolls the sum of ten dollars and to my neice Elizabeth Miles also of Bonavista aforesaid daughter of James Miles the sum of ten dollars and the balance of the said moneys I give devise and bequeath to Reverend Arthur C.F. Wood M.A. as Rector of the Parish of Saint Thomas Saint Johns aforesaid and to his successors in office to be used for the purpose of forming a fund to provide nursing for women without children who may need attendance in sickness belonging to the said Parish of Saint Thomas the said fund to be administered under rules and regulations to be framed by the said Reverend Arthur C.F. Wood and approved of by the Church Wardens of the said Parish of Saint Thomas.
I give and bequeath to Martha Young daughter of Frederick and Naomi Young the small iron bedsted with feather bed and two pillows also two sheets two pillow-slips and a ???
of my clothes such as Margaret Hamlyn wife of the said Charles Hamlyn may select for her
I give and bequeath to the said Margaret Hamlyn my black dress my chest of drawers and any small articles about the house she may chose to select.
I give and bequeath to John Heale of Flower Hill my late fathers large looking glass bible and prayer book also my clock

Dated May 17th . 1895
To the Honorable the Supreme Court or to one of the Honorable the Judges thereof.
The Petition of Frank E. Rendell of St. Johns in the Island of Newfoundland Accountant
Humbly Sheweth
That Susan Jane Rolls of St. Johns aforesaid Widow died at that place on or about the sixteenth day of July instant having first made and executed the paper writing hereto annexed as and for her last Will and Testament and therein appointed your Petitioner the sole executor thereof.
The said deceased at the time of her death was possessed of property of the probable value of six hundred dollars.
That no Probate to the Will or administration to the estate and effects of the said deceased has been at any time granted.
Your Petitioner therefore prays that this Honorable Court or one of the Honorable the Judges thereof will be pleased to grant to him Probate to the Will of the said Susan Jane Rolls.
And as in duty bound your Petitioner will ever pray.
