NEWFOUNDLAND
St. Johns To Wit We Moses King and Samuel Miller executors named in the will of Solomon Miller do swear that we believe this to be the true Last Will and Testament of Solomon Miller of New Bonaventure Trinity Bay school teacher deceased, we do further swear that we will pay all the Debts and Legacies of the said deceased so far as his Goods shall extend, and the law shall bind us, and that we will exhibit a full, true and perfect Inventory of all and every the Goods, Rights and Credits of the deceased, together with a just and true account into the Registry of the Supreme Court of Newfoundland, when we shall be lawfully called thereto. And we do further swear that the whole of the Goods, Rights, Chattels, Assets, Credits and Effects of the said deceased, and of which he died possessed, do not, according to the best of my knowledge, judgment and belief, amount to the value of eight hundred dollars

The petition of Moses King and Samuel Miller both of New Bonaventure planters
Humbly Sheweth
- That Solomon Miller late of New Bonaventure aforesaid school teacher died at Bonaventure aforesaid on or about the day of October 1893 having previously made and published his last will and testament hereunto annexed marked A
- That by his said will he appointed your petitioners executors thereof.
- That the estate of the said Solomon Miller at his death did not exceed the sum of $750 in value.
- That the next of kin of the said Solomon Miller are his widow Elizabeth ???of Chance Cove Trinity Bay and his father Abraham Miller of New Bonaventure aforesaid.
- These petitioners were present and did see the testator sign the annexed will: This? petitioner Moses King wrote the will leaving a blank after the words "Signed by the above named testator" and before the words "in the presence of us" and in that space the said Solomon Miller in his own handwriting filled in the words "Solomon Miller (signed)" and did this in the presence of the two witnesses.
Your petitioners pray that the said will be admitted to probate and that your petitioners be entrusted with the execution thereof and as in duty bound your petitioners will ever pray

This the last will and testament of me Solomon Miller of New Bonaventure Trinity Bay in the Island of Newfoundland Lately a School Master at Chance Cove which I do make publick [sic] and declare as follows Hereby revoking and annulling all other wills by me made I do first give and bequeath unto my beloved wife Elizabeth Miller one hundred dollars the same being a portion? of the money standing in my name at the savings bank St. Johns Secondly I do give and bequeath fifty dollars to be expended on my funeral and headstone of of the money standing in my name at the Savings Bank St. Johns after all other expenses is paid Should there be any surplus Left at the Savings Bank
I shall give the remaining to my father and mother Abraham Miller& Mariah Miller
Your petitioners pray that the said will be admitted to probate and that your petitioners be entrusted with the execution thereof and as in duty bound (incomplete)
Thirdly
I do also give and bequeath to my mother Mariah Miller one clock two chairs and one table
Fourthly I do give and bequeath to Jeremiah Miller Short one gun one bed and beding [sic]
Fifthly
I do name Moses King and Samuel Miller as joint executors of this my last will and testament
Singed [sic] by the above named testator Solomon Miller (signed) in the presence of us who being present at the same time have in his presence attended and subscribed their names as witnesses thereto

to wit I Moses King of New Bonaventure Trinity Bay Planter make oath and say that on the 18th day of July A.D. one thousand eight hundred and ninety three at New Bonaventure I was present and did see Solomon Miller late of New Bonaventure aforesaid the Testator named in the paper writing hereunto annexed duly sign publish and declare the said annexed paper writing, marked A, as and for his last Will and Testament, in the presence of me and of Samuel Miller the other subscribing witness thereto. That I and said Samuel Miller then and there signed our names to such Will as such witnesses, in the presence of the said Testator and of each other, and at the time of the said execution of the said Will the said Testator was of sound and disposing mind, memory and understanding, to the best of Deponent's knowledge and belief.
