I John P. Kent of St. Johns Barrister at Law do make publish and declare this as and for my last Will and testament. I will and bequeath everything I possess including my interest in my Fathers and Mother's settlement property (save as hereinafter specifically bequeathed and subject to the instructions to my Executor ??? date herewith) to my Executor hereinafter named in trust for my three sisters Mary A Kent, Marcella J Kent and Ellen F. Kent share and share alike so long as they remain unmarried and in the event of one or any of them marrying her or their share or shares to go to such of them as remains single but in the event of all marrying then my whole"Estate" (subject to above reservations?) or as much as remains thereof shall be equally divided between them again the child or children for? deceased as her to take the parents share. All my law books including my interest in those of my late Father I give to my brother James M. Kent but for which he is to pay the sum of one hundred dollars into my Estate aforesaid at his own convenience. My camera and all my photographic books materials and supplies I give to my sister Mary A Kent. I appoint my brother James M. Kent as executor of this my will and I declare all previous wills by me made as null and void.

          I Francis H. Bradshaw of Saint John's Assistant Government Engineer make oath and say as follows :-

  1. That I was well acquainted with the late John P. Kent and his handwriting for the past seventeen years
  2. That the writing or paper hereto annexed marked A and identified by my initials thus "F.H.B." is entirely in the handwriting of the said John P. Kent
  3. That to the best of my knowledge and belief the said John P. Kent was, on the 6th day of February 1895 the date on which the said annexed writing or holograph will purports to have been signed and executed of sound mind memory and understanding.

After three days from the date hereof application will be made to the Honorable the Supreme Court or to one of the Honorable the Judges thereof that probate of the will of the late John P. Kent of S. Johns Barrister at Law be granted to me the undersigned the Executor in the said will named

The Petition of James M. Kent of St. Johns Solicitor

Humbly Sheweth

  1. That John P. Kent of St. Johns Barrister at Law died at St. Johns aforesaid on the 18th day of November last past having first duly made and executed his last will and testament whereof he appointed your petitioner the Executor
  2. That the said John P. Kent was at the time of his death possessed of property within the jurisdiction of this honorable Court to the probable value of $2000.00
  3. That he left him surviving five brothers and three sisters
  4. That probate of the said will has not heretofore been granted to any one

          Your Petitioner therefore prays the probate of the will of the said John P. Kent be granted to him the Executor therein named and as in duty bound he will ever pray &c &c &c

NEWFOUNDLAND
St. Johns    To Wit          I James M Kent of St. John's in the Central District of Newfoundland, Barrister at Law do swear that I believe this to be the true Last Will and Testament of John P Kent late of St. John's aforesaid, Barrister at Law deceased. I do further swear that I will pay all the Debts and Legacies of the said deceased so far as his Goods shall extend, and the law shall bind me, and that I will exhibit a full, true and perfect Inventory of all and every the Goods, Rights and Credits of the deceased, together with a just and true account into the Registry of the Supreme Court of Newfoundland, when I shall be lawfully called thereto. And I do further swear that the whole of the Goods, Rights, Chattels, Assets, Credits and Effects of the said John P. Kent deceased, and of which he died possessed, do not, according to the best of my knowledge, judgment and belief, amount to the value of three thousand dollars
