AFFIDAVIT In the Supreme Court of Newfoundland NEWFOUNDLAND } We do swear that we believe this to be the true Last Will and Testament of James Keefe late of Conception Harbor in the Southern District of the Island of Newfoundland fisherman deceased. We do further swear that we will pay all the Debts and Legacies of the Deceased, so far as his Goods shall extend and the Law shall bind us: and that we will exhibit a true, full and perfect Inventory of all and every the Goods, Rights and Credits of the deceased, together with a just and true account into the Registry of the Supreme Court of Newfoundland, when you shall be lawfully called thereto: And we do further swear that the whole of the Goods, Rights, Chattels, Assets, Credits and Effects of the said James Keefe deceased, and of which he died possessed, do not according to the best of our knowledge, judgment and belief, amount to the value of two hundred dollars So help you God Sworn before me at Harbor Main his

and Testament of James Keefe late
of Conception Harbor in Conception
Bay Newfoundland fisherman deceased
to be granted to Richard Donovan and Mary Joseph Donovan the Executors
and Executrix in the said Will named
and appointed
To the Honourable The Petition of Richard Donovan and Mary Joseph Donovan of Conception Harbor, C Bay Humbly Sheweth That James Keefe late of Conception Harbor fisherman deceased died at the above place on or about the 6th day of March AD 1895 That previous to his death said deceased made and executed his last Will and Testament which is hereunto annexed proven upon the affidavit of Patrick St. John one of the subscribing witnesses thereto. That in and by the said last will & Testament said deceased nominated and appointed your Petitioner and his wife Mary Joseph Donovan Executor and Executrix thereof. That at the time of his death the said deceased was possessed of property within the Jurisdiction of this Honourable Court of the probable value of Two hundred dollars.
That neither Probate to any last will nor Letters of Administration to the Estate of said deceased has yet been granted to any person. Your Petitioners therefore pray that your Honourable Court may grant them Probate to the said last Will and testament and as in duty bound will ever pray Dated at S. Johns this 19th day of November AD 1895

In the name of God, Amen. I James Keefe of Conception Harbor, Planter, being of sound mind, memory and recollection do make and ordain this my last Will and Testament and do dispose of all my effects in the manner and form following.
Signed by the said testator as and for his last Will and Testament in the presence of us present at the same time who at his request, in his sight and presence and the presence of each other have subscribed our names as witnesses. Patrick St. John
