Be it Remembered That on this Twelfth day of March in the 58th Year of the Reign of our Sovereign Lady Victoria, by the Grace of God of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland, Queen, Defender of the Faith, &c, and in the Year of our Lord One Thousand Eight Hundred and ninety five

Personally Appeared The Right Reverend Llewellyn Jones Lord Bishop of Newfoundland Elizabeth Alice Jones of S' John's wife of the above and William H. Horwood of St. John's Barrister at law and did acknowledge themselves to be held and firmly bound to our said Sovereign Lady the Queen, Her Heirs and Successors, in the penal Sum of four thousand Dollars to be had, made and levied on his Goods, Chattels and Effects, jointly and severally, if Default is made in any of the conditions following :---

Now the Condition of this Obligation is such, that if the above bounden Llewellyn Jones shall duly and faithfully act as Guardian of the Estate and Effects of Nigel Eames Feild Jones of St. John's son of the above Llewellyn and Elizabeth A. Jones a Minor under the age of twenty-one years, and shall and do pay and dispose of such Estate in such manner as the said Court shall direct, then this obligation to be void and of no effect, or else to be and remain in full force and virtue.

To the Honourable the Supreme Court of Newfoundland or one of their Honourable the Judges thereof:

          The Petition of the Right Reverend Llewellyn Jones of Saint John's Newfoundland Bishop of Newfoundland

Humbly Sheweth

          That Nigel Eames Feild Jones a son of your Petitioner is entitled to a legacy of Two thousand dollars under the Will of Jane Anthony Eames late of New Hampshire in the United States of America Widow deceased.
          That the said Nigel Eames Feild Jones is a minor of the age of three years and that there is no Guardian or Trustee appointed or authorized to receive payment of the said legacy.
          That the value of the Estate of the said Nigel Eames Feild Jones does not exceed the sum of Two thousand dollars.
          Your Petitioner therefore humbly prays that your Honourable Court or one of Your Lordships the Judges thereof will be pleased to grant unto him Letters of Guardianship to the Estate of the said Nigel Eames Feild Jones.
          And as in duty bound your Petitioner will ever pray
          Saint John's Newfoundland this twelfth day of March Anno Domini One thousand eight hundred and Ninety five

          Upon reading the Petition of the Right Reverend Llewellyn Jones and the Affidavit thereto attached and upon hearing Wm. Horwood of Counsel for the said Petitioner I do order that the said Right Reverend Llewellyn Jones be appointed Guardian to the Estate of the said Nigel Eames Feild Jones.
          At Saint Johns Newfoundland this 12th day of March A.D. 1895
