1895 Estate of Patrick Handrigan late of Heavy Tree Road St. Johns in the Central District Farmer deceased Dated 9th Dec'r 1895 Admin granted to Sureties Edward Doutney Estate sworn under $280.00
Notice Three days from the date hereof application will be made to the Honourable the Supreme Court or one of the Honourable the Judges thereof for Letters of administration to the Estate and Effects which were of Patrick Handrigan late of Heavy Tree Road near St. Johns in the island of Newfoundland farmer to be granted to Edward Handrigan of Heavy Tree Road near Saint John's farmer eldest son of said deceased Saint John's November 13th A.D. 1895 (Illegible initials lower left corner)
To the Honorable the Supreme Court or to one of the Honorable the Judges thereof The Petition of Edward Handrigan of Heavy Tree Line Road near Saint Johns farmer Humbly Sheweth as follows That Patrick Handrigan late of Heavy Tree Road aforesaid died at the above place on the 18th of March AD 1891 intestate That at the time of his death deceased was possessed of property within the jurisdiction of this Honorable Court of the probable value of about two hundred and eighty dollars That the said deceased left him surviving five sons and three daughters all of whom with the exception of two? all over age. Your Petitioner is the Eldest son. That no probate to the will or Letters of administration has been granted to any person Petitioner therefore prays that administration to the said Estate may be granted to him and as in duty bound he will ever pray

Supreme Court of Newfoundland Be it Remembered That on this Sixth day of December in the 59th Year of the Reign of our Sovereign Lady Victoria, by the Grace of God of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland, Queen, Defender of the Faith, &c, and in the Year of our Lord One Thousand Eight Hundred and ninety five personally appeared Edward Handrigan of Heavy Tree Road, Saint John's Farmer, William Doutney of St. John's Blacksmith and James Benmore of St. John's Farmer and did acknowledge themselves to be held and firmly bound to our said Sovereign Lady the Queen, Her Heirs and Successors, in the penal Sum of Five hundred and sixty Dollars to be had, made and levied on his Goods, Chattels and Effects, jointly and severally, if Default is made in any of the conditions following :--- Now the Condition of this Obligation is such, that if the above bounden Edward Handrigan as Administrator of the Estate and Effects of Patrick Handrigan late of St. John's Farmer deceased, do make or cause to be made, a just, true, and perfect inventory of all and singular the Goods, Credits and Effects of the said deceased, which have or shall come to the hands, possession, or knowledge of him the said Edward Handrigan as such Administrator or to the hands or possession of any other person, or persons, for him and the same so made do exhibit, or cause to be exhibited, in the Supreme Court of Newfoundland, at or before the Sixth day of June next ensuing the date hereof; and the said Goods, Chattels, Credits and Effects, and all other the Goods, Chattels, Credits and Effects of the said deceased, at the time of his death, or which at any time afterwards shall come into the hands or possession of him the said Administrator or to the hands or possession of any other person or persons for him shall well and truly administer according to Law, and further shall make, or cause to be made, a just and true account of his said Administration, on or before the 6th day of December which will be in the Year of Our Lord One Thousand Eight Hundred and ninety six and afterwards from time to time as he shall be lawfully required. And all the rest, residue, and remainder of the said Goods, Chattels, Credits and Effects, which shall be found remaining upon the said Administration Account, the same being examined and allowed by the said Supreme Court of Newfoundland, shall and do pay and dispose of in due course of Administration, or in such a manner as the said Court shall direct; then this obligation to be void and of no effect, or else to be and remain in full force and virtue. his (Illegible signature of Commissioner his
