Conception Harbor To Wit I The Reverend William Veitch of Conception Harbor in Conception Bay, Roman Catholic Priest do swear that I believe this to be the true Last Will and Testament of Priscilla Doherty late of Trinity in Trinity Bay Widow, deceased, I do further swear that I will pay all the Debts and Legacies of the said deceased so far as her Goods shall extend, and the law shall bind me, and that I will exhibit a full, true and perfect Inventory of all and every the Goods, Rights and Credits of the deceased, together with a just and true account into the Registry of the Supreme Court of Newfoundland, when I shall be lawfully called thereto. And I do further swear that the whole of the Goods, Rights, Chattels, Assets, Credits and Effects of the said Priscilla Doherty deceased, and of which she died possessed, do not, according to the best of my knowledge, judgment and belief, amount to the value of Two thousand dollars

To Wit I Arthur Power of Trinity in the Northern District of Newfoundland, Dealer, make oath and say that on the Twenty seventh day of November A.D. one thousand eight hundred and ninety four at Trinity, aforesaid, I was present and did see Priscilla Doherty late of Trinity aforesaid, Widow, deceased, the Testatatrix named in the paper writing hereunto annexed duly sign, publish and declare the said annexed paper writing, marked A, as and for her last Will and Testament, in the presence of me and of Philip Veitch, the other subscribing witness thereto. That I and said Philip Veitch then and there signed our names to such Will as such witnesses, in the presence of the said Testatrix and of each other, and at the time of the said execution of the said Will the said Testatrix was of sound and disposing mind, memory and understanding, to the best of Deponent's knowledge and belief.

Will and Testament of Priscilla Doherty
Widow of the Late Edward Doherty
Trinity, Newfoundland
I Priscilla Doherty on this my last Will and Testament, do bequeath my dwelling house and land, and all their belongings to the Roman Catholic Church of Trinity Newfoundland.
The Rev. William Veitch is my trustee of the sum of twelve hundred dollars ($1200.00)
I do bequeath to the Rev'd William Veitch the sum of four hundred dollars ($400.00) for his own private use.
I do bequeath two hundred dollars ($200.00) towards getting a Church bell for the Roman Catholic Church of Trinity, Newfoundland, or any other benefit for the aforesaid Church.
I do bequeath the sum of two hundred dollars ($200.00) for Widows and Orphans, as the Rev'd William Veitch shall give to the aforesaid to whom he thinks most needed.
I do bequeath to the Convent of Conception Harbor Conception Bay the sum of one hundred dollars ($100.00).
I do bequeath to Anastatia Hiscock, my niece and daughter of the late AfC [sic] Hiscock the sum of one hundred dollars ($100.00)
I do bequeath the sum of fifty dollars ($50.00) to have a monument erected for myself and husband in Trinity Cemetery.
I do bequeath the sum of One hundred fifty dollars ($150.00) for masses for myself and husband and other charitable purposes which the Rev'd William Veitch shall think necessary.
I Priscilla Doherty do declare that I have about the sum of five hundred and 10 dollars ($510.00) in the Savings Bank of St. Johns Newfoundland.
The Trustees or Executor of my Will shall draw from the aforesaid Bank the sum of money required to defray the expenses of my funeral or any other expenses attending the same.
The Balance of my money in the aforesaid Bank shall go to the Roman Catholic Church of Trinity Newfoundland when needed.
I do bequeath to Annie Fowlow niece of Mrs. Arthur Powers my gold watch.
I do bequeath to Philip Veitch my writing desk.
I Priscilla Doherty appoint Mrs. William Power to distribute my bedclothes and clothing to whom most needed (especially to Mrs. Churchill my nurse
I Priscilla Doherty appoint Arthur Power and Philip Veitch trustees to the aforesaid Will.
I Priscilla Doherty do appoint the Rev'd William Veitch to be Executor for the aforesaid Will, and that Philip Veitch is to act as Executor of the said Will until delivered to the Rev'd William Veitch, the aforesaid Executor.

The Petition of Very Reverend William Veitch Roman Catholic Priest
Humbly Sheweth
That the late Priscilla Doherty late of Trinity, Trinity Bay in Newfoundland, aforesaid Widow deceased died at that place in or about the month of November Anno Domini One thousand Eight hundred and ninety four
That previous to her death, said deceased made and Executed her last Will and Testament which is hereto annexed proven upon the Affidavit of Arthur Power one of the Subscribing Witnesses thereto.
That in and by said last Will and Testament the said deceased nominated and appointed your Petitioner as sole Executor thereof.
That at the time of her death the said deceased was possessed of property within the Jurisdiction of this Honorable Court of the probable value of Two Thousand dollars
That neither probate to any last Will or Letters of Administration to the Estate of said deceased has yet been granted to anyone.
Your Petitioner would therefore pray your Honorable Court to grant him Letters of Probate to said last Will and Testament of said deceased and as in duty bound will ever pray &c &c &c
