NEWFOUNDLAND }
Saint Johns To Wit } We George A. Buffett of Grand Bank Merchant and Allan MacDonald of the same place Doctor of Medicine do swear that we believe this to be the true Last Will and Testament of William Buffett late of Grand Bank Planter deceased we do further swear that we will pay all the Debts and Legacies of the said deceased so far as his Goods shall extend, and the law shall bind us, and that we will exhibit a full, true and perfect Inventory of all and every the Goods, Rights and Credits of the deceased, together with a just and true account into the Registry of the Supreme Court of Newfoundland, when we shall be lawfully called thereto. And we do further swear that the whole of the Goods, Rights, Chattels, Assets, Credits and Effects of the said deceased, and of which he died possessed, do not, according to the best of our knowledge, judgment and belief, amount to the value of One thousand five hundred dollars

The Petition of George A. Buffett of Grand Bank Merchant
Respectfully sheweth as follows :-

William Buffett late of Grand Bank Planter died there in the month of January last having first made and executed his last will and testament which is hereto annexed

By the said Will Petitioner and Benjamin Bufffett and Allan MacDonald are appointed Executors thereof. The said Allan MacDonald resides at Grand Bank and the said Benjamin Buffett resides in New Brunswick.

The said William Buffett at the time of his death was possessed of property of the probable value of fourteen hundred dollars
Petitioner therefore prays that Probate of the said will may be granted to him reserving the rights of the other executor.

Know all men by these presents that I William Buffett, Planter of Grand Bank in the District of Burin, in the Island of Newfoundland, being of sound mind and ??? and desion [sic] of making this my last will and testament - do hereby give devise and bequeath my property as follows. I give and devise to my Grandson Benjamin Robert Buffett my Dwelling House and out-house, with the land on which they are situate, also the furniture in said dwelling and moveable property such as Horse and Cart. I also give and devise to the said Benjamin Robt Buffett any lots of land remaining or belonging to me in Grand Bank, except that piece of land situate up the beach? which I give to the children of William and Thomas Buffett. I give and bequeath to my grand daughter Deborah Buffett one bed and bedding and any other bedding and clothes, and such other articles as they may select. I give to Mrs. Christiana Morsey? and Mrs. Julia Buffett, to be shared according to their wishes, to the relations of the Testator, or to the parties interested.
Any money remaining to me in Bank or elsewhere I give and bequeath to my Grand Children, equal, and share and share alike.
My pew in the church I give and devise to my Grand Daughter Deborah Buffett
My Testamentary and funeral expenses I leave and will that they be paid
and discharged by my Executors. In Witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this Twentieth day of January One thousand eight hundred ninety five, at Grand Bank aforesaid.

To Wit } I George A. Buffett of Grand Bank Merchant make oath and say that on the 20th day of January A.D. one thousand eight hundred and ninety four at Grand Bank I was present and did see William Buffett late of Grand Bank plumber the Testator named in the paper writing hereunto annexed marked A, duly sign (by making his mark) publish and declare the said annexed paper writing as and for his last Will and Testament, in my presence and in the presence of Allan MacDonald the other subscribing witness thereto. That I and the said Allan MacDonald then and there signed our names to such Will as such witnesses, in the presence of the said Testator and of each other, and at the time of the said execution of the said Will the said Testator was of sound and disposing mind, memory and understanding, to the best of Deponent's knowledge and belief.
