AFFIDAVIT.

In the Supreme Court of Newfoundland.

NEWFOUNDLAND, }
St John's   To Wit:       }

I do swear that I believe that Robert Simpson, late of St John's in the Central District of Newfoundland, deceased died without a Will; and that I will well and truly administer all and every the Goods of the said deceased, and pay his Debts so far as his Goods will extend and the law shall bind me and that I will exhibit a true, full and perfect Inventory of the said Goods of the deceased, and render a true account of My Administration into the Registry of the said Court within Six months after the date hereof, or when I shall be thereunto lawfully required and that the whole of the goods, rights, chattels, assets, credits and effects of the said deceased, of which he died possessed, within the jurisdiction of this Court, do not, according to the best of my knowledge, judgment and belief, amount to the value of ----------- Five Hundred -------- Dollars.

So help me GOD.

To the Honourable the Supreme Court of Newfoundland or to one of the Honourable the Judges thereof
The Petition of Campbell Macpherson of St johns Mer-chant

Humbly Sheweth

  1. That Robert Simpson late of St Johns afore-said ,deceased died there on or about the 23rd day of November A.D. 1894 intestate ,leaving him surviving hisWidow -------- Mary Simpson now residing in St Johns, and three daughters 1. JeanMary Emma, wife of James Winsor of St Johns 2. MinnieJean and 3. Bertha a minor
  2. That the said deceased at the time of his death was indebted to Your Petitioner in the sum of Nine Hundred and Forty Nine Dollars and 66ȼ
  3. That for the purpose of securing to your peti-tioner the payment of Six Hundred Dollars which was due by the said Intestate some years ago ,the said intestate effected a Policy of Insurance on his life, which policy was to be in favour of your petitioner and is now and has been since the same was effected in his possession ,and the premiums thereon and the interest on the same have in-creased the said amount to the sum for which your petitioner is now a Creditor.
  4. That no Probate of any will or Letters of Ad-ministration of the Estate and Effects of the said Intestate have been granted to any person
  5. Your Petitioner is not aware of the value of the Estate and Effects of said deceased at the time of his death ,other than the amount of the said Insurance Policy which is for the sum of One thousand dollars and is

PRAYER

Petitioner therefore Humbly prays that Your Honourable Court or one of Your Lordships may be pleased to order that Letters of Administration of the Estate and effects of the said Robert Simpson be granted to Alexander J.W. McNeily Esquire Chief Clerk of Your Honourable Court or to some other fit and proper person
And as in duty bound he will ever pray &c
