AFFIDAVIT.

In the Supreme Court of Newfoundland.

NEWFOUNDLAND, }
Burin   To Wit:            }

I Mary A Keech do swear that I believe this to be the true Last Will and Testament of Thomas Keech late of Burin aforesaid merchant and I --------------------------------- do further swear that I will pay all the Debts and Legacies of the said deceased so far as his Goods shall extend, and the law shall bind me, and that I will exhibit a full, true and perfect Inventory of all and every the Goods, Rights and Credits of the deceased, together with a just and true account into the Registry of the Supreme Court of Newfoundland, when I shall be lawfully called thereto. And I do further swear that the whole of the Goods, Rights, Chattels, Assets, Credits and Effects of the said Thomas Keech, deceased, and of which he died possessed, do not, according to the best of my knowledge, judgment and belief, amount to the value of three thousand dollars

So help me God.

I Thos Keech of Spoon Cove Burin in the Island of Newfoundland do make this my last will and Testament in manner following
1st I give and devise to my beloved wife Mary A., for her own use and benefit, absolutely and for ever all my Estate and effects both real and personal, whatsoever & wheresoever and of what nature Soever, Save and except the Sum of $400, four hundred dollars the Same to be appropriated and Set apart for the Education of my two Grandchildren Elsie M. and Thos E.P. Keech and I hereby appoint her Mary A, sole executrix of this my will.
In witness whereof I have hereunto Set my hand this 22nd day of November A D one Thousand eight hundred and ninety three.

I Albert Goddard of Burin in the Southern District of the Island of Newfoundland trader make oath and say that on the twenty second day of November A.D. One Thousand Eight Hundred and ninety-three at Burin aforesaid I was present and did see Thomas Keech late of Spoon Cove Burin aforesaid the Testator named in the paper writing hereunto annexed, marked A, duly sign, (by making his mark) publish and declare the said annexed paper writing, as and for his last Will and Testament in my presence and in the presence of John Beazley the other subscribing witness thereto. That I and said John Beazley the latter by making his mark then and there signed our names to such Will as such witnesses, in presence of the said Testator and of each other. That previously to the said Will being so sign-ed, as aforesaid, by the said Testator and the said witnesses, it was read over to, and approved of by, the said Testator in the presence of me and the said John Beazley and that at the time of the said execution of the said Will the said Testator was of sound and disposing mind, memory and understanding, to the best of my know-ledge and belief.

Three days after the date hereof ap-plication will be made to the Supreme Court of Newfoundland or to one of the Honorable the Judges thereof for Letter of Probate to the will of Thomas Keech late of Burin deceased to be granted to Mary Ann Keetch, his widow, the executrix in the said will named.

The petition of Mary A. Keech of Burin in the Southern district of the Island of Newfoundland widow

Humbly Sheweth

That Thomas Keech late of Spoon Cove Burin merchant deceased died on or about the eleventh day of February AD. 1894.
That previous to his death the said Thomas Keech made his will dated the 22nd day of November AD 1893
That the said will is hereto annexed and has been proved on the affidavit of Albert Goddard one of the subscribing witnesses thereto
That your petitioner is the executrix in the said will named.
That the Estate which the said Thomas Keech died possessed of is of the probable value of three thousand dollars
That no letters of probate to the said will nor administration to the said Estate has at any time been granted
          Your petitioner therefor prays that letters of probate to the said will may be granted to her
          And as in duty bound will ever pray &c
          Dated the 2nd day of July AD 1894
