NEWFOUNDLAND, }
Little Bay    To WIT:   }

          We do swear that We believe this to be the true Last Will and Testament of Louis E Joseph late of Pilleys Island in the Northern District Physician and Surgeon --- We do further swear that we will pay all the Debts and Legacies so far as his Goods shall extend, and the law shall bind us; and that we will exhibit a full, true and perfect Inventory of all and every the Goods, Rights and Credits of the deceased, together with a just and true account into the Registry of the supreme Court of Newfoundland, when we shall be lawfully called thereto. And we do further swear that the whole of the Goods, Rights, Chattels, Assets, Credits and Effects of the said Louis E Joseph, deceased, and of which he died possessed, do not, according to the best of our knowledge, judg-ment and belief, amount to the value of Two thousand Dollars -------

After three days application will be made to the Honourable the Supreme Court or one of their Lordships the Judges thereof for Probate of the Will of Louis E Joseph late of Pilleys Island Physician deceased to be granted unto Horace M Herbert of Pilleys Island Accountant and Richard D. Walsh of Little Bay, Telegraph Operator, the Executors named in the said Will

I, Louis E. Joseph being of sound mind though weak of body on and in anticipation of death do hereby declare this to be my last will and testament
First I wish all debts and liabilites due by me to be paid from my estate
2nd My assets, one my life policies, House furniture, Books, surgical instruments and Jewellry.
3rd With regard to the Jewellry presented to hismy late wife, Alice Jane Duder, I wish my ExEcutors to write to my father to know what he would wish done with it
4th My furniture to be sold and proceeds to go toward paying my liabilities
5th I request my exEcutors to call in all my liabilities and settle same
6th The large framed picture of my wife I wish to be sent home to my mother
7th After all my liabilities are all of paid off I wish any residue remaining to be paid to Eliza Herbert
8th I hereby name R.D. Walsh and Horace M Herbert as my Executors

I Daniel McLuish of Pilleys Island aforesaid make oath and say that on the twentieth day of November A.D., One Thousand Eight Hundred and Ninety-three at Pilleys Island I was present and did see Louis E. Joseph late of Pilleys Island Physician and Surgeon the Testator named in the paper writing hereunto annexed, duly sign, publish and declare the said annexed paper writing, as and for his last Will and Testament in my presence, and in the presence of R. Jardine Freebains the other subscribing witness thereto. That I and said R. Jardine Freebains then and there signed our names to such Will as such witnesses, in the presence of the Testator and of each other and that at the time of the said execution of the said Will the said Testator was of sound and disposing mind, memory and understanding, to the best of my knowledge and belief.

To the Honourable the Supreme Court or one of their Lordships the Judges thereof:

                    The Petition of Richard D. Walsh of Little Bay in the Northern District Telegraph Operator and Horace M. Herbert of Pilleys Island in the same District Accountant

Humbly Sheweth

                    That Louis Eugene Joseph, B.M.C.M. late of Pilleys Island aforesaid Physician and Surgeon died at that place on the Eleventh day of December AD 1893 being possessed of the estate and effects of the probable value of Two thousand Dollars.
That hereto annexed is the Last Will and Testament of the said Louis E. Joseph bearing date the twentieth day of November A.D. 1893
That Your Petitioners have been appointed Executors of the said Last Will and Testament as appears by reference thereto
That no application for Probate of the said Will or for the Administration of the Estate of the said deceased has heretofor been Inaey? To Your Honourable Court:
Your Petitioner therefore prays that Your Honourable Court or one of Your Lordships the Judges thereof will be pleased to grant unto them Probate of the said Will
And as in duty bound Your Petitioners will ever pray
