NEWFOUNDLAND }
St. John's To WIT:      } I Bridget Lash of St. John's in the Central District of Newfoundland Widow so swear that I believe this to be the true Last Will and Testament of Ann Hepburn late of No. 75 Blenheim Crescent Kensington Park in the County of Middlesex England Widow, deceased, I do further swear that I will pay all the Debts and Legacies so far as her Goods shall extend, and the law shall bind me; and that I will exhibit a full, true and perfect Inventory of all and every the Goods, Rights and credits of the deceased, together with a just and true account into the Registry of the Supreme Court of Newfoundland, when I shall be lawfully called thereto. And I do further swear that the whole of the Goods, Rights, Chattels, Assets, Credits and Effects of the said Ann Hepburn, deceased, and of which she died possessed, do not, according to the best of my knowledge, judgment and belief, amount to the value of Sixteen hundred and fifty Dollars

So help me GOD.

  1. I am well acquainted with the handwriting of Ann Hepburn the testatrix under the will hereto annexed marked "A" She was a relation of mine being Aunt of my mother the Executrix named in the Said will. It
  2. I have seen the will of the said testatrix hereto annexed marked "A" her signature "Ann Hepburn" is in the proper handwriting of the said Ann Hepburn.

Three days from the date hereof application will be made to the Honorable the Supreme Court for probate of the will of Ann Hep-burn late of 75 Blenheim Crescent Ken-singston Park in the County of Middlesex widow to be granted to Bridget Lash the executrix named in the said will

To the Honorable the Supreme Court or one of the Honorable the judges thereof
The Petition of Bridget Lash of S. Johns the Executrix named in the accompanying will humbly sheweth as follows
That Ann Hepburn late of Blenheim Crescent County Middlesex died at the above place on the 16th of November last having previously made her last will and testament which is hereto annexed and under which she appointed your petitioner to be Executrix. That petitioner is well acquainted with the hand writing of the said testatrix and believes that the signature Ann Hepburn to the said will is that of the said Ann Hepburn. That at the time of her death said deceased was possessed of property within the jurisdiction of the Honorable Court of the value of sixteen hundred dollars Petitioner therefore prays that probate to the said will may be granted her and as in duty bound she will ever pray

I Ann Hepburn of No 57 Blenheim Crescent Kensington park in the County of Middlesex Widow hereby revoke all former Wills and Testamentary in dispositions and declare this to be my last Will and Testament I give and devise my freehold land ground tenements and hereditaments Together with the Cottages thereon situate and being in the Torbay Road near St. Johns in the Colony of Newfoundland subject to the fragment? To my Cook Bridget Langdon Widow her executors administrator and assigns of the rents and profits thereof for the term of three years commencing from my death unto and to the use of my niece ---Bridget Lash and her heirs It is my particular wish as it was that of my late Mother and in an order that and with the object that her injunction to be in that behalf may be (so far as it legally can be) respected and carried out that the said freehold land ground tenements and hereditaments together with the cottages thereon hereinbefore devised and the rents and profits therefrom accruing shall not be granted sold or anywise alienated or disposed of to anybody who is not a member of my own family and in order to prevent (as far as I legally can) such grant sale alienation or disposition I hereby declare my wish to be that no one of my successor or successors heir or heirs shall have the right power or liberty to grant sell or to anywise alienate or dispose of the said freehold land ground tenements and hereditaments together with the Cottages thereon hereinbefore devised and the

Rents and profits thereof accruing to anybody who is not a member of my own family in order that and with the object that the same may be always retained and preserved in a member of my own family and not come into the hands of strangers I appoint my said Niece Bridget Lash to be the Executrix of this my will In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand this thirtieth day of June one thousand eight hundred and ninety two.
