NEWFOUNDLAND, }
Saint John's To WIT:   }

I do swear that I believe this to be the true Last Will and Testament of Nicholas Galway late of Saint John's in the Central District Cooper deceased. I do further swear that I will pay all the Debts and Legacies of the said deceased so far as his Goods shall extend, and the law shall bind me, and that I will exhibit a full, true and perfect Inventory of all and every the Goods, Rights and Credits of the deceased, together with a just and true account into the Registry of the Supreme Court of Newfoundland, when I shall be lawfully called thereto. And I do further swear that the whole of the Goods, Rights, Chattels, Assets, Credits and Effects of the said Nicholas Galway, deceased, and of which he died possessed, do not, according to the best of my knowledge, judgment and belief, amount to the value of Two Thousand dollars

So help me God.

Three days from date hereof application will be made to the Honorable the Supreme Court or one of the Honorable the Judges thereof for probate to the last will and testament of Nicholas Galway late of Saint John's Coope deceased to be granted to Michael Galway the son of said deceased and sole executor named in said will.

The petition of Michael Galway of St. John's in the island of Newfoundland Cooper

Humbly Sheweth
as follows:

          That Nicholas Galway formerly of Saint John's Cooper died there on or about the fourth day of July Anno Domini one thousand eight hundred and ninety three having first made his last will and testament, hereto annexed proven in common form upon the oath of John W. White a solicitor of the Supreme Court one of the sub-scribing witnesses thereto.

          That in and by his said last will and testament the said Testator nominated and appointed your petitioner his executor

          That at the time of his death the said testator was possessed of property of the probable value of two thousand dollars

That no probate to any will nor letters of administration to any estate has as yet been granted to any person

          Petitioner therefore prays that probate to the said will may be granted to him as executor aforesaid and as in duty bound will ever pray &c

make oath and say that on the 20th day of June A.D. One Thousand Eight Hundred and ninety three at St. John's aforesaid I was present and did see Nicholas Galway late of S' John's Cooper deceased the Testator named in the paper writing hereunto annexed, duly sign, publish and declare the said annexed paper writing, marked A as and for his last Will and Testament in the presence of me and of Robert Hamlyn the other subscribing witness - thereto. That I and said Rbert Hamlyn
then and there signed our names to such Will as such witnesses, in presence of the said Testator and of each other, and at the time of the said execution of the said Will the said Testator was of sound and disposing mind, memory and understanding, to the best of my knowledge and belief.

This is the last will and testament of me Nicholas Galway of Saint John's in the island of Newfoundland Cooper
First: I give, devise and bequeath unto my beloved wife Ellen Galway all my household furniture, monies and securities for monies, goods, chattels and effects of whatsoever description I may die --- possessed. Second. I also give devise and bequeath unto my said wife all my right title and interest in and to all that piece or parcel of land with dwelling houses and other erections thereon situate on Hamilton Street in the town of Saint John's aforesaid and held by me under lease from one George Mc. Cawley. Third I appoint my son Michael Galway my sole executor of this my last will and testament and fourthly I hereby revoke all former wills and codicils ---- which may have been made by me
          In testimony whereof I have hereunto signed my name at Saint John's aforesaid this 20th day of June AD 1893.
