AFFIDAVIT NEWFOUNDLAND, } I do swear that I ----- believe that John Farnaham Late of Heart's Content in the Northern District X Batteryman Note in margin with line to X (fill in occupation of deceased) Deceased died with--------- a Will; and that I-------- will well and truly administer all and every the Goods of the said deceased, and pay his--- Debts so far as his-----Goods will extend; and that I---- will exhibit a true, full and perfect Inventory of the said Goods of the deceased, and render a true account of my Administration into the Registry of the said Court, within Six months after the date hereof, or when I-------- shall be thereunto lawfully required; and that the whole of the goods, rights, chattels, assets, credits and effects of the said deceased, of which he--------died possessed, within the jurisdiction of this Court, do not, according to the best of my knowledge, judgment and belief, amount to the value of (fill in amount $100 58/150 less than Estate sworn to) Twenty four hundred Dollars. Supreme Court of Newfoundland Be it Remembered, Now the Condition of this Obligation is such, that if the above bounden Maria Farnham---------as Administratrix with the Will annexed--------- of the Estate and Effects of John Farnham----------late of Heart's Content aforesaid deceased, do make, or cause to be made, a just, true and perfect Inventory of all and singular, the Goods, Credits and Effects of the said deceased, which have or shall come to the hands, possession, or knowledge of her--- the said Maria Farnham----- as such Administratrix---------------------------- or to the hands or possession of any other person or persons, for her and the same so made do exhibit, or cause to be exhibited into the Supreme Court of Newfoundland, at or before the (Six months from date of Signing Bond) Tenth day of February ---- next ensuing the date hereof; and the said Goods, Chattels, Credits, and Effects, and all other the Goods, Chattels, Credits and Effects of the said deceased at the time of his--- death or which at any time afterwards shall come to the hands or possession of her--------- the said Maria Farnham--------------------------------------------- or to the hands or possession of any other person or persons for her---shall well and truly administer according to Law, and further shall make, or cause to be made, a just and true account of her----said Administration, on or before the Tenth (Twelve months from date of Signing Bond) day of August--which will be in the year of Our Lord One Thousand Eight Hundred and ninety five and afterwards from time to time as she--- shall be lawfully required. And all the rest, residue, and remainder of the said Goods, Chattels, Credits and Effects, which shall be found remaining upon the said Administration account, the same being examined and allowed by the said Supreme Court of Newfoundland, shall and do pay and dispose of in a due course of Administration, or in such manner as the said Court shall direct;---then this Obligation to be void and of no effect or else to be and remain in full force and virtue. "A" The Bank Property 2nd I give and bequeath to my son Frederick the full extension of the water sideprenises and 50 Square feet of the land adjoining the main Road on the frontage for building shop & store and also the corner of land below the cellar adjoining Larry's Road and thence to the drain and the cellar and the dwelling House he occupies and stone house and cabbage garden and Back field, 3rd I give and Bequeath to my son's William and Archibald the land from the main Road bounded by Legge's lane close to James fence and thence to the drain beside Frederick's 50 square feet, and share betwixt themselves 4th No son or offspring of Farnham's not to erect fence's or make drong's? on the frontage of this land extending from the main Road, adjoining Larry's Road to Legge's lane and James meadow fence and Frederick's cabbage garden fence must keep the boundary fence's around in good repair Up the Harbor Property 5th I give and Bequeath to my son Archibald the dwelling House and effects and land attached after his Father and Mother decease. 6th I give and Bequeath to my wife Maria the sum of £300 sterling and my Masonic insurance whatever it may realize. The Petition of Maria Farnham of Heart's Content in the ------ Northern District, Widow Humbly Sheweth That John Farnham late of Heart's Content aforesaid ----- Battery-man (written in the margin: fill in occupation of deceased) died at that place on the Seventh day of July (written in the margin: fill in date of death) A.D. 1894 having previously made and executed his last Will and ---- Testament, which is hereto------ annexed. That said deceased appointed no Executor under his said - last Will and Testament. That said deceased left him surviving as next of kin, his widow, Your petitioner, and four sons namely James ----- Frederick, William and Archibald

Office of the Assessor of Taxes IN RE ESTATE In the Supreme Court James Farnham Deceased In pursuance of the provisions of "The Death Duties Act, No. 7 of 1934" and Amendments thereof, I hereby certify that the value of the said estate, after making allowance for debts incurred during the lifetime of the deceased and due and payable at the time of his death was $15,299.90 and the sum of $576.11 being the duties specified in the Schedule of the said Acts have been duly paid, and the receipt thereof is hereby acknowledged.
