The Petition of James Joseph Collins concerning the Estate of William Collins
Probate year 1893, from the LDS microfilm # 2057390

To the Honourable the Supreme Court or to one of the Honourable the Judges Thereof

The Petition of James Joseph Collins of Saint John's Shopkeeper
humbly sheweth
That Petitioner's late father William Collins of Old Perlican Trinity Bay Planter died there in the month of July in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and seventy six without having made a Will and leaving him surviving his Widow Theresa Collins, five sons William J Collins since dead and who left a Widow Cecilia Collins and two children infants residing in Trinity, John Collins also dead and who left a Widow Amelia F Collins and one son an infant, Thomas Collins since dead, unmarried, Terence Collins and your Petitioner who is the Elder surviving son and three daughters namely Matilda spinster, Elizabeth married to John O'Flaherty of Northern Bay, Conception Bay and Cicely married to J P Dyer of Saint John's aforesaid.
That the consent hereto annexed (marked A) verified by the affidavit of Terence Collins in the consent of the parties interested in the said Estate with the exception of Cecilia Collins widow of the late William J Collins and who resides in Trinity and Elizabeth Flaherty who resides in Northern Bay but whose husband John Flaherty lately residing in Saint John's aforesaid has signed the aforesaid consent.

That deceased at the time of his death was possessed of property sworn (?) under one thousand dollars but part has since been distributed and is now of the probable value of seven hundred dollars.

That on the ninth day of September one thousand eight hundred and eighty one the said William J Collins was appointed administrator of the Estate of his late father the said William Collins.

That in the month of June eighteen hundred and ninety the said William J Collins died before he had fully administered the said Estate.

Petitioner therefore prays that your Lordships will be pleased to grant him Letters of Administration de noves (?) now to the Estate of the said deceased William Collins.
And as in duty bound will ever pray be.
