Henry Thistle

The Petition of Eliza Power concerning the Estate of Henry Thistle Probate year 1892 from the LDS microfilm # 2057390

To the Honourable the Supreme Court or one of the Honourable the Judges thereof.

The Petition of Eliza Power of Harbor Grace in the Northern District, married woman.

Humbly sheweth that Henry Thistle of Carbonear, Fisherman died at that place on the 29th day of Feb. AD 1892.

That deceased made no will.

That deceased left him surviving one sister Fanny French, mother of your Petitioner and two children of a brother named Francis Thistle.

That about four years before the death of deceased he gave into possession of your Petitioner a Newfoundland Savings Bank Book showing a sum of $120.00 due deceased with instructions to retain the said Book in her possession.

That one day previous to his death deceased told your petitioner to pay all his just and legal debts after his decease from the amount due him by the Savings Bank and to apply the Balance to her own use.

That petitioner has now possession of the said Bank Book and has always held (?) it since it came into her possession as before stated.

That deceased at the time of his death was possessed of other property of the probable value of Thirty Dollars.

Your Petitioner therefore prays that your Lordships will be pleased to grant her administration.

And as in duty bound will ever pray.

Dated at Harbor Grace this 4th day of April 1892.

Eliza her X Mark Power
