NEWFOUNDLAND AFFIDAVIT. You shall swear that you believe this to be the true last Will and Testament of Edward Farrell, late of St. John's in the Central District of Newfoundland, Carpenter, deceased. So help you God. Sworn before me, at St. John's
1889 Estate of Edward Farrell Dated 18th day of June 1889 Probate granted to Estate sworn under $1100.00
Notice After three days from the date hereof application will be made to the Supreme Court or to one of the Honorable the Judges thereof for Probate of the Will of Edward Farrell late of St. John's, Carpenter, deceased, to be granted to William Morrissey and John Byrne, the Executors therein named. (Stamp) Edward Shea
Certificate I hereby certify that the notice on the other side hereof written was posted in the office of the Chief Clerk & Registrar of the Supreme Court on the day of the date thereof and that no caveat or other objection was entered thereto.
To the Honorable the Supreme Court or one of the Honorable the Judges thereof The Petition of William Morrissey of St. John's, Tide waiter Humbly Sheweth: That Edward Farrell late of St. John's, Carpenter died at that place on or about the fifth day of May instant having previously made and executed his last Will and Testament of which he appointed your Petitioner and one John Byrne of St. John's aforesaid, Carpenter, executors. In the matter of Petition for Probate Shea
This is the last Will and Testament of me Edward Farrell of St. John's, Carpenter. I revoke all former and other wills by me at any time made. I give devise and bequeath to my daughter Ellen, wife of Richard Burke, all the property both real and personal of which I shall be possessed at the time of my death to her sole and separate use and behoof and free from the control of her present or any future husband and it is my desire that she shall not in any way sell or dispose of the said landed property either by mortgage or sale or otherwise. I direct that out of the money of which I die possessed, after the payment of my funeral and testamentary expenses the sum of Forty Dollars be paid to the Reverend William Lalor R. C. Priest for the purpose of having a High Mass celebrated for the repose of my soul and that of my deceased wife. The balance of said money after these payments have been made I give Page 2 and bequeath to my said daughter Ellen, wife of Richard Burke as before mentioned.
I appoint William Morrissey of St. John's aforesaid tide waiter and John Byrne, Cooper, executors of this my last Will and Testament. Signed by the said Edward Farrell Edward Farrell

SUPREME COURT OF NEWFOUNDLAND TO WIT } I, Edward Shea, of St. John's in the Central District, maketh oath and saith that on the 26th day of May A.D. one thousand eight hundred and eighty eight at St. John's aforesaid, he this deponent was present and did see Edward Farrel late of St. John's, Carpenter, the Testator named in the paper writing hereto annexed, duly sign publish and declare the said annexed paper writing as and for his last Will and Testament in the presence of this Deponent and of Otto Emerson, the other subscribing witness thereto. That Deponent and said Otto Emerson then and there signed their names to such Will as such witnesses in the presence of the said Testator and of each other and that at the time of the said Execution of the said Will the said Testator was of sound and disposing mind, memory and understanding, to the best of Deponent's knowledge and belief.
NEWFOUNDLAND St. John's, to wit. In the matter of the I John Byrne of St. John's, Newfoundland, Cooper, maketh oath and saith: Sworn before me at John Byrne.
