In the Name of God. Amen.

I Thomas Doodey of Mosquito Colinet Island, St. Mary's Bay, *but at present of St. John's, Planter, do make publish and declare this paper writing to be my last Will and Testament and I hereby annul all former wills by me made or executed. First - I give devise and bequeath all money I may die possessed of or be entitled to at the time of my death and deposited in the Savings and Commercial Banks unto my wife Catharine Doodey for her sole use and benefit. Second - I give devise and bequeath unto my said wife Catharine Doodey the DwellingHouse and half the land and premises occupied by me in Mosquito aforesaid for and during the term of her natural life and after her death the said Dwelling House and half of the land and premises to go to and I hereby bequeath the same unto Bernard Doodey, Alban Doodey & John Joseph Doodey, children of my deceased brother John Doodey, share and share alike. *Third - I give devise and bequeath the other half of my land and premises in Mosquito aforesaid unto the aforesaid Bernard Doodey, Alban Doodey and John Joseph Doodey, share and share alike. Fourth - I give devise and bequeath all other

property of every description and not hereinbefore bequeathed unto my said wife Catharine Doodey for her sole use and benefit. Lastly - I hereby nominate and appoint my said wife Catharine Doodey *Executrix and my nephew John Joseph Doodey Executor of this my last Will and Testament.
IN WITNESS whereof I have hereunto my hand and seal subscribed and set at Saint John's, Newfoundland this eighteenth day of March A.D. 1889.

I declare the following to be a Codicil and to form a part of my last Will and Testament that is to say that the bequests to my aforesaid wife of the Dwelling House and half the land and premises at Mosquito aforesaid

and the bequest to Bernard Doodey, Alban Doodey and John Joseph Doodey are upon the express condition that they, my said wife and nephews, do support and maintain my widowed sister Rose Ryan during the term of her natural life.
In witness whereof I have hereunto my hand and seal subscribed and set at St. Johns, Newfoundland this 18th day of March A.D. 1889.

Notice

After three days application, will be made to the Supreme Court or one of the Honorable Judges thereof for Probate of the Will of Thomas Doody late of Mosquito, Colomet Island, St. Mary's Bay, Planter, deceased, to be granted to Catharine Doodey, Executrix, and John Joseph Doodey, Executor, named in said Will. St. John's 13th April 1889.

Denis J. Scott of St. John's maketh oath and saith that on the 18th day of March A.D. one thousand eight hundred and eighty nine at St. John's aforesaid he, this Deponent, was present and did see Thomas Doodey , late of Colinet Island, St. Mary's Bay, deceased, the Testator named in the paper writing hereunto annexed duly sign (by making his mark) publish and declare the said annexed paper writing marked "A"  as and for a Codicil to the last Will and Testament, in the presence of this Deponent and of Michael J. O'Mara the other subscribing witness thereto. That Deponent and said Michael J. O'Mara then signed their names to such Will as such witnesses in the presence of the said Testator and of each other--That previously to the said Will being so signed as aforesaid by the said Testator and the said witnesses, it was read over to, and approved of by the said Testator in the presence of Deponent and the said Michael J. O'Mara and that at the time of the said execution of the said Testator was of sound and disposing mind, memory and understanding, to the best of Deponent's knowledge and belief.

Newfoundland or one of the Honorable
Assistant Judges thereof.

          The Petition of Catharine Doody of Colonet Island, St. Mary's Bay, Newfoundland, Widow and John Joseph Doody of same place, Planter

Humbly Sheweth

          That Thomas Doody of Colonet Island aforesaid, the husband of your Petitioner Catharine Doody and the Uncle of your Petitioner John Joseph Doody, died in Saint John's on the nineteenth day of March last past having made and executed his last Will, which said Will has been duly proved and is hereto annexed.
          That under the said Will your Petitioner Catharine Doody was appointed Executrix and your Petitioner John Joseph Doody was appointed Executor.
          That the said Thomas Doody was possessed of property in Newfoundland aforesaid, at the time of his death of the probable value of One Thousand Three Hundred Dollars.
          That no Probate or Administration has been granted to said Thomas Doody's Estate.
          Your Petitioners therefore pray that one of your Lordships will be pleased to entrust them with Probate of the Will of said Thomas Doody.
          And as in duty bound will ever pray.
          Saint John's, November 23rd 1889.

AFFIDAVIT.

You shall swear that you believe this to be the true last Will and Testament of Thomas Doody late of Mosquito, Colonet Island, St. Mary's Bay in the Southern District of the Island of Newfoundland, Planter, deceased.

You shall swear that you will pay all the Debts and Legacies of the Deceased, so far as the Goods shall extend and the Law shall bind you; and that you will exhibit a true, full and perfect Inventory of all and every the Goods, Rights and Credits of the deceased, together with a just and true account into the Registry of the Supreme Court of Newfoundland, when you shall be lawfully called thereto: And you shall further swear that the whole of the Goods, Rights, Chattels, Assets, Credits, and Effects of the said Thomas Doody, deceased, and of which he died possessed, do not, according to the best of your knowledge, judgment and belief, amount to the value of Thirteen Hundred Dollars.

So help you God.
