The Petition of the Reverend George H. Field, at present of St. John's but resident of Flowers Cove Strait at Belle Isle, Clerk in Holy Orders, in charge of the Flower's Cove Mission of the Church of England

Humbly Sheweth

That Joseph Marie Arnette, late of Cape Norman, North Coast of Newfoundland, Fisherman, departed this life on or about the sixth day of January last (1888) at Cape Norman aforesaid, intestate, leaving him surviving his widow Amelia and one child, William, aged a little under four years.
That the Estate of the said Joseph Marie Arnette at his decease did not, to the best of your petitioner's information and belief, exceed the sum of Twenty Two Hundred dollars in value.
That the consent of the said widow Amelia Arnette that letters of administration of the estate of her said late husband should be granted to your petitioner is hereto annexed marked A.

That no letters of administration of the said estate has been granted.
That the said Amelia Arnette has requested your Petitioner to take letters of administration because she cannot herself come to St. John's save at much expense and trouble and because there is no Commissioner of Affidavits at or near Cape Norman.

Your petitioner humbly prays that letters of administration of the Estate of the said late Joseph Marie Arnette may be granted to him on his giving the usual security and as in duty bound he will ever pray.
