To Wit          } I do swear that I believe that Stephen Sullivan, late of St. Mary's, Fisherman, deceased, died without a Will; and that I will well and truly administer all and every the Goods of the said deceased, and pay his Debts so far as his Goods will extend; and that I will exhibit a true, full, and perfect Inventory of the Goods of the deceased, and render a true account of my Administration into the Registry of the said Court, within six months from the date hereof, or when I shall be thereunto lawfully required; and that the whole of the Goods, Rights, Chattels, Assets, Credits and Effects of the said deceased, which he died possessed of, within the jurisdiction of this Court, do not, according to the best of my knowledge, judgment and belief, amount to the value of One Hundred and Fifty dollars.

To the Honorable the Supreme Court
or to one of the Honorable the Judges
thereof.

The petition of Elizabeth Sullivan at present of Saint John's in the Island of Newfoundland, Spinster.

Humbly Sheweth as follows

          That Stephen Sullivan, late of Saint Mary's in the Southern District in the island aforesaid died at that place on or about the 17th day of March A.D. 1873, intestate.
          That he left him surviving three daughters named respectively Anne, wife of Patrick Power, Bridget, wife of Michael Mathers and your petitioner.
          That hereto annexed is the written consent of the said Anne Power and Bridget Mathers, daughters of the said deceased to your petitioner applying to your Honorable Court for Letters of Administration to the said Estate.
          That at the time of his death the said deceased was possessed of property within the jurisdiction of this Honorable Court of the probable value of One Hundred Dollars.
          That neither the probate to any will nor letters of Administration to the said Estate has as yet been granted to any person.

          Petitioner therefore prays that your Honorable Court may grant her administration to the said Estate and as in duty bound will ever pray &c &c.
          Dated at St. John's this 24th day of          A.D. 1888.

I received your letter concerning the selling of the ground in St. Mary's. I am willing to sell it for 15 pounds although it is not the value of it, but you can do as you please and send me my share of it. I suppose that is all is necessary for me to say. You have my free will to do as you please.

I received your letter yesterday. I have been away this last month. I now here. I am satisfied for you to sell my grandfather's pla????. You can send my share of the money up here by mail. I hope you will get the value of it. I also hope you are quite well. Wont you write me and tell me how you are getting on. I have not very much wages this summer but I got very good hours. I have not heard a word from home this long time. Hoping soon to hear from you again.

Be it Remembered, That on this 26th day of September in the Fifty Second Year of the Reign of our Sovereign Lady VICTORIA, by the Grace of God of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland, Queen, Defender of the Faith, &c, and in the Year of Our Lord One Thousand Eight Hundred and Eighty-eight personally appeared Elizabeth Sulliven, formerly of St. Mary's but at present of St. John's, Spinster, Patrick Buckmaster and Thomas Brien of same place, Victerallers???, and did acknowledge themselves to be held and firmly bound to our said Lady the Queen, her Heirs and Successors, in the penal Sum of Two Hundred Dollars, to be had, made and levied on their Goods, Chattels and Effects, jointly and severally, if Default is made in any of the conditions following:--

NOW THE CONDITION OF THIS OBLIGATION IS SUCH, That if the above bounden Elizabeth Sullivan as Administratrix of the Estate and Effects of Stephen Sullivan late of St. Mary's in the Caentral District, Fisherman, deceased, do make, or cause to be made, a just, true, and perfect Inventory of all and singular the Goods, Credits and Effects of the said deceased, which have or shall come to the hands, possession, or knowledge of her the said Elizabeth Sullivan as such Administratrix or to the hands or possession of any other person, or persons, for her and the same so made do exhibit, or cause to be exhibited, in the Supreme Court of Newfoundland, at or before the 26th day of March next ensuing the date hereof; and the said Goods, Chattels, Credits and Effects, and all other the Goods, Chattels, Credits and Effects of the said deceased, at the time of his death, or which at any time afterwards shall come into the hands or possession of her the said Elizabeth Sullivan or to the hands or possession of any other person or persons for her shall well and truly administer according to Law, and further shall make, or cause to be made, a just and true account of her said Administration, on or before the 26th day of September which will be in the Year of Our Lord One Thousand Eight Hundred and Eighty-Nine and afterwards from time to time as she shall be lawfully required. And all the rest, residue, and remainder of the said Goods, Chattels, Credits and Effects, which shall be found remaining upon the said Administration Account, the same being examined and allowed by the said Supreme Court of Newfoundland, shall and do pay and dispose of in due course of Administration, or in such a manner as the said Court shall direct; then this obligation to be void and of no effect, or else to be and remain in full force and virtue.
