1888 Estate of Maria Pearcey late of Hearts Content in the Northern District Spinster deceased Dated 19th April 1888 Admin granted to Sureties Estate sworn under
Supreme Court of Newfoundland Be it Remembered That on this 12th day of April in the 51st Year of the Reign of our Sovereign Lady Victoria, by the Grace of God of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland, Queen, Defender of the Faith, &c, and in the Year of our Lord One Thousand Eight Hundred and Eighty-eight personally appeared Maria Pearcey of Hearts Content in Trinity Bay widow, Thomas Sinyard of same place Fisherman and Richard Penny of same place Dealer and did acknowledge themselves to be held and firmly bound to our said Lady the Queen, Her Heirs and Successors, in the penal Sum of one hundred Dollars to be had, made and levied on his Goods, Chattels and Effects, jointly and severally, if Default is made in any of the conditions following :--- Now the Condition of this Obligation is such, that if the above bounden Maria Pearcey as Administratrix of the Estate and Effects of Maria Pearcey late of Hearts Content aforesaid Spinster deceased, do make or cause to be made, a just, true, and perfect inventory of all and singular the Goods, Credits and Effects of the said deceased, which have or shall come to the hands, possession, or knowledge of her the said Maria Pearcey as such Administratrix or to the hands or possession of any other person, or persons, for her and the same so made do exhibit, or cause to be exhibited, in the Supreme Court of Newfoundland, at or before the Twelfth day of October next ensuing the date hereof; and the said Goods, Chattels, Credits and Effects, and all other the Goods, Chattels, Credits and Effects of the said deceased, at the time of her death, or which at any time afterwards shall come into the hands or possession of her the said Maria Pearcey or to the hands or possession of any other person or persons for her shall well and truly administer according to Law, and further shall make, or cause to be made, a just and true account of her said Administration, on or before the twelfth day of April which will be in the Year of Our Lord One Thousand Eight Hundred and Eighty-nine and afterwards from time to time as she shall be lawfully required. And all the rest, residue, and remainder of the said Goods, Chattels, Credits and Effects, which shall be found remaining upon the said Administration Account, the same being examined and allowed by the said Supreme Court of Newfoundland, shall and do pay and dispose of in due course of Administration, or in such a manner as the said Court shall direct; then this obligation to be void and of no effect, or else to be and remain in full force and virtue. her
NOTICE After three days application will be made in the Honorable the Supreme Court or to a Judge thereof for letters of administration of the estate of Maria Pearcey late of Hearts Content in the Northern District Spinster deceased to be granted to Maria Pearcey of same place, her mother Robert J. Kent
Certificate I hereby certify that the notice on the other side, hereof contained, has been posted in the office of the Chief Clerk of the Supreme Court of St. John's, from the date thereof until this date, and that no caveat or other objection thereto has been filed or entered. To the Honorable the Supreme Court or any one of the honorable the Judges thereof. The petition of Maria Pearcey Hearts Content widow Humbly Sheweth That Maria Pearcey [sic] of Hearts Content was drowned in Trinity Bay on the Twenty first day of May AD. 1887, in consequence of a collision between the Steamer ship "Plover" and schooner "Trixie H," that she died Intestate & having her surviving your petitioner who is her mother, her father having died before her. That deceased possessed no property. That your petitioner is desirous of being appointed administratrix of the estate of said deceased. That no administration of the said Estate has been hitherto granted & your petitioner therefore prays that administration to the said Estate be granted to her. R. J. Kent her
