SUPREME COURT OF NEWFOUNDLAND Be it Remembered That on this Fifteenth day of March in the Fifty first Year of the Reign of our Sovereign Lady Victoria, by the Grace of God of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland, Queen, Defender of the Faith, &c, and in the Year of our Lord One Thousand Eight Hundred and Eighty-eight personally appeared Alexander Hinds, Thomas Hinds and John Hinds all of Bay of Islands, fishermen and did acknowledge themselves to be held and firmly bound to our said Lady the Queen, Her Heirs and Successors, in the penal Sum of five hundred Dollars to be had, made and levied on his Goods, Chattels and Effects, jointly and severally, if Default is made in any of the conditions following :--- Now the Condition of this Obligation is such, that if the above bounden Alexander Hinds as Administrator cum testament annexo of the Estate and Effects of William Hinds late of Bay of Islands aforesaid, Planter, deceased, do make or cause to be made, a just, true, and perfect inventory of all and singular the Goods, Credits and Effects of him the said deceased, which have or shall come to the hands, possession, or knowledge of him the said Alexander Hinds as such Administrator or to the hands or possession of any other person, or persons, for him and the same so made do exhibit, or cause to be exhibited, in the Supreme Court of Newfoundland, at or before the Fifteenth day of September next ensuing the date hereof; and the said Goods, Chattels, Credits and Effects, and all other the Goods, Chattels, Credits and Effects of the said deceased, at the time of his death, or which at any time afterwards shall come into the hands or possession of him the said Alexander Hinds or to the hands or possession of any other person or persons for him shall well and truly administer according to Law, and further shall make, or cause to be made, a just and true account of his said Administration, on or before the 15th day of March which will be in the Year of Our Lord One Thousand Eight Hundred and Eighty-nine and afterwards from time to time as he shall be lawfully required. And all the rest, residue, and remainder of the said Goods, Chattels, Credits and Effects, which shall be found remaining upon the said Administration Account, the same being examined and allowed by the said Supreme Court of Newfoundland, shall and do pay and dispose of in due course of Administration, or in such a manner as the said Court shall direct; then this obligation to be void and of no effect, or else to be and remain in full force and virtue. his
Will of William This is the last Will and Testament of me William Hinds. When it shall please God to take me out of this world, I bequeath all my property except my dwelling house with its contents at the time of my death to my four sons to be divided equally amongst them. I bequeath the said house with its contents to my three sons Alexander, Thomas and John to be divided equally amongst them. The Wharf and Store under the house to be divided equally amongst my four sons.

Bay of Islands Thomas Doman of Bay of Islands aforesaid fisherman maketh oath and saith that on the third day of October A.D. one thousand eight hundred and eighty one at Bay of Islands aforesaid he, this Deponent, was present and did see William Hinds late of Bay of Islands aforesaid, the Testator named in the paper writing hereunto annexed duly sign (by making his mark) publish and declare the said annexed paper writing as and for his last Will and Testament, in the presence of this Deponent and of Joseph J. Curling of Bay of Islands aforesaid, Clerk in Holy orders, the other subscribing witness thereto. That Deponent and said Joseph J. Curling then signed their names to such Will as such witnesses, in the presence of the said Testator and of each other - that previously to the said Will being so signed as aforesaid, by the said Testator and the said witnesses, it was read over to and approved of by the said Testator in the presence of Deponent and the said Joseph J. Curling and that at the time of the said execution of the said Will the said Testator was of sound and disposing mind, memory and understanding, to the best of Deponent's knowledge and belief. Chief Justice of the Honorable The Supreme Court of Newfoundland or to one of the Honorable The assistant Judges thereof The Petition of Alexander Hinds of Bay of Islands in the Southern District of Newfoundland Planter Fisherman Humbly Sheweth That William Hinds late of Bay of Islands aforesaid Planter died at that place on or about the Ninth day of May in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and eighty six leaving him surviving your petitioner and three brothers Keating, Thomas, and John.
That said Will is hereto annexed having been proven in due form of Law by the affidavit of Thomas Doman one of the Subscribing witnesses thereto Dated this 6th day of February A.D. 1888
