ST. JOHN'S }I do swear that I believe that Michael Grinslett late
To Wit }of Molina in the Central District of Newfoundland Laborer, deceased, died without a will and that I will well and truly administer all and every the Goods
of the said deceased and pay his debts, so far as his Goods will extend: and that I will exhibit a true, full and perfect Inventory of the said Goods of the deceased, and render a true account of my Administration into the Registry of the said Court, within six months from the date hereof, or when I shall be thereunto lawfully required; and that the whole of the Goods, Rights, Chattels, Assets, Credits and Effects of the said deceased which he died possessed of, within the jurisdiction of this Court, do not, according to the best of my knowledge, judgment and belief, amount to the value of Eight hundred dollars.

The petition of Edward P. Morris of Saint Johns in the island of Newfoundland Barrister at Law
Humbly Sheweth
That Michael Grinslett late of Saint Johns in the Island of Newfoundland Laborer died at the above place on Wednesday last the twentieth day of June. That deceased left no relatives surviving him residing? in this Country, his wife having died in the month of March last.
That petitioner is informed and believes that deceased has two daughters living who when last heard from resided in the United States of America.
That at the time of his death deceased was possessed of property within the jurisdiction of this Honorable Court of the probable value of Eight hundred dollars.
That immediately after the death of deceased petitioner was requested to take charge of the effects of deceased and to make such arrangements as were
necessary for the wake and funeral
of deceased which petitioner accordingly did.
Petitioner is therefore desirous that the responsibility resting on him for the payment of those debts ???ident on the said services should be removed from him.
Petitioner therefore prays that Prescott Emerson Esquire one of His Majesty's Counsel and Chief Clerk and Registrar of Supreme Court be appointed administrator of the Estate and Effects of said deceased and as in duty bound he will ever pray &c
