AFFIDAVIT.

You shall swear that you believe this to be the true Last Will and Testament of Elizabeth Sarah Finlay late of Saint Johns in the Central District Widow of the Island of Newfoundland Widow deceased-------------------


You shall swear that you will pay all the Debts and Legacies of the Deceased; so far as the Goods shall extend and the Law shall bind you; and that you will exhibit a true, full and perfect Inventory of all and every the Goods, Rights and Credits of the deceased,together with a just and true account into the Registry of the Su-preme Court of Newfoundland, when you shall be lawfully called thereto:    And you shall further swear that the whole of the Goods, Rights, Chattles, Assets, Credits, and Effects of the said Elizabeth Sarah Finlay --------------------------Deceased, and of which she ---------------- died possessed, do not, according to the best of your knowledge, judgment and belief, amount to the value of Twelve thousand           Dollars.

     TO WIT }

                        Jessie Ohman wife of ?? Ohman of Saint Johns Jeweller maketh oath and saith that on the      27th            day of June A. D. one thousand eight hundred and eighty seven      at Saint Johns                      she, this Deponent, was present and did see Elizabeth S. Finlay                    late of St John's aforesaid      the Testatrix named in the paper writing hereunto annexed, duly sign, publish and declare the said annexed paper writing as and for   her last Will and Testament, in the presence of this Deponent and of Frederick W Finlay of St Johns aforesaid Agent--------------------
the other subscribing witness thereto.   That Deponent and said Frederck  W. Finlay ______________ then and there signed their names to such Will as such witnesses, in the presence of the said Testatrix and of each other


and that at the time of the said execution of the said Will the said Testatrix was of sound and disposing mind, memory and understanding, to the best of Deponent's knowledge and belief.

This is the Last Will And testament of Me Elizabeth Sarah Finlay of St. Johns Newfoundland Widow revoking the codicils? or letters testamentary by me made heretofore

To My Son Frederick William Finlay I give and bequeath all Monies belonging to Me , save and except the sum of Twenty Pounds Currency which I give to my servant Harriette Allan provided she is in my service at the time of my decease.

To My Son ­Frederick William Finlay I give And bequeath all my household Furniture, goods and chattles which May be in and upon the premises at the time of my decease.

To My Son ­Frederick William Finlay I give and bequeath that parcel of land situate in the rear of dwelling house and bounded on the North by railway tracks . and also to my son Frederick William Finlay I give And bequeath the land and house situated near the railway depot and adjoining   ?oo? ?ow.

Any further property Monies or otherwise in which I may have an interest

I appoint my son Frederick William Finlay and my friend Neil Campbell Executors of this My last will and Testament in witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand this 27th     day of June One Thou- Sand Eight Hundred and Eighty Seven

To the Honourable the Supreme Court or one of the Honourablethe Judges thereof.

          The Petition of Neil Campbell of St. Johns    and F. W. Finlay of same place Merchantile Agents.

Humbly Sheweth

That Elizabeth Sarah Finlay widow of Jabez N Finlay Esquire deceased died at St Johns in the month of July    last past having first made her last Will and Testament which is hereto annexed proved upon the oath of Jessie Ohman one of the subscribing witnesses to the same.
    That under and by virtue of the said Will your Petitioners have been appointed Executors thereof.
    That deceased was possessed of property at the time of her death of the probable Value of   ------------------Ten _ thousand dollars.
     That neither Probate of the annexed or any other will or Administration to the Estate and effects of deceased has as yet been granted to any one.
      Your Petitioners therefore pray that Probate of the annexed Will may be granted to them and as in duty bound they will ever pray.
