After three days application will be made To the Honourable the Supreme Court of Newfoundland or to one of the Honourable the Judges, thereof for Letters of Administration with the will annexed of the Estate and Effects of Isabella Desbarres widow of the late Honourable Au?gustus Wal?e? Desbarres heretofore one of the Judges of the Honourable the Supreme Court to be granted to Augustus Henry John Desbarres a Son of deceased

    The Petition of Augustus Henry John Desbarres of Tallow in the County of Waterford at present of Saint Johns Newfoundland Lieutenant Colonel Late of Royal Artillery

Humbly Sheweth

     That Administration with the will annexed of the estate and effects in Newfoundland of Isabella Desbarres widow of the late Honourable Augustus Wallet Desbarres heretofore one of the Judges of the Supreme Court of ___ Newfoundland was on the Eleventh day of Octobe          A.D eighteen hundred and Eighty two     duly granted to Joseph Frederick Wallet Desbarres late of Newsland in the Island of Guernsey Retired Commissary as by reference to the records of this Honourable Court will fully appear
     That the said Joseph Frederick Wallet Desbarres died on or about the twentieth day of February last at Maryville in the County of Cork Ireland
        That the Estate of the said Isabella Desbarres in Newfound_ land was not fully administered

by the said Administrator previous to his decease and the remainder of the said Estate so unadministered is of the probable value of ???Eighty ??? (initials crossed out and between two lines) G.I.a thousand four hundred dollars        Gia

       That annexed hereto is a Power of Attorney from Richard John Maxwell Gumbleton one of the Executors of the will of said ___ Isabella Desbarres deceased ___ authorizing Petitioner to apply for Letters of Administration of the Estate of said deceased in New_ foundland

       Petitioner therefore prays (initials between two lines) GIA that Administration with the will annexed of such of the Estate of said Isabella Desbarres deceased as still remains unadministered may be granted to him and that such further order may be made in the premises as ?? Justice shall appertain
          And as in duty bound Petitioner will ever pray etc

To all to whom these presents shall come Whereas We Augustus Henry John Des Barres of ??? Tallow, County Waterford in Ireland   Major in the Royal Artillery and Richard John Maxwell Gumbleton of Gla??t?e in the County of Cork in Ireland Esquire Executors of the last Will and Testament of__ Isabella Des Barres widow of the late Honourable Augustus Wallet Des Barres heretofore one of the Judges of the Supreme Court of Newfoundland did by Letter of Attorney under our hand and seal bearing date the fourteenth day of September Anno Domini One thousand Eight hundred and Eighty two nominate and appoint Joseph Frederick Wallet Des Barres___ late of Newsland in the Island of Guernsey retired Commissary of Her Majesty's Forces our true and lawful Attorney to petition __ and apply to the said Supreme Court of Newfoundland and _ to obtain from the said Court Letters of Administration to the Estate of the said Isabella Des Barres in Newfoundland with the Will of said Isabella Des Barres annexed to said Letters of Administration and which said Will and Codicil thereto was passed and registered in the principal Registry of the Probate Division of Her Majesty's High Court of Justice and Ad _ ministration of the personal Estate of said deceased was granted by the aforesaid last mentioned Court to the said Richard John Maxwell Gumbleton power being reserved by the last named ___ Court to make a like grant to the said Augustus Henry DesBarres and whereas under and by virtue of said Letter of Attorney Letters of Administration cum testamento annexo to the Estate of said deceased in Newfoundland was duly granted to The said Joseph Frederick Wallet Des Barres and whereas The said Joseph Frederick Wallet Des Barres has lately died with out having fully administered the Estate of said deceased in New_ foundland aforesaid Now therefore know ye that we the said Augustus Henry John Des Barres and John ______ __________________________________Maxwell__________

Maxwell Gumbleton Executors as aforesaid have made ordained constituted and appointed and by these presents do make ordain constitute and appoint Augustus Henry John Des Barres Lieut Colonel . of ??geola Tallow County Waterford our true and lawful Attorney to petition and apply to the said Supreme Court of Newfoundland and to obtain from the said Court Letters of Administration de bonis non cum testamento annexo to the Estate of said deceased in Newfoundland aforesaid and we do hereby give and grant to our said Attorney full power and authority to sell and __ dispose of and in every way manage and distribute the Estate of the said deceased in Newfoundland as fully and effectually to all intents and purposes whatsoever as if we were present and took upon ourselves the administration and distribution of the said Estate we hereby certifying and confirming all and whatsoever our said Attorney shall legally do or cause to be done in the premises by ___ virtue of these presents with full power to our said Attorney to appoint a substitute for all or any of the purposes aforesaid and the same to revoke and others to appoint.

To all to whom these presents shall come I Thomas ?ham of 10 South Mall Cork Ireland Notary Public duly authorised admitted and Sworn practising in the Said City of Cork do hereby certify that I was present on the twenty fifth day of October distant and did see Augustus Henry John Des Barres and Richard John Maxwell Gumbleton the persons named in the foregoing paper writing or ?rvery attorney duly Sign Seal and Eecute the said ___ Power of attorney and that the named ___ "A. N. J. Des Barres" ?? "R J M Gumbleton" thereto subscribed are of the proper handwriting of ___ the Said Augustus Henry John Des Barres and__ Richard John Maxwell Gumbleton respectively and that the names "Henry E?ham" and "A. H. Be it Remembered, That on this          11th                    day of   November                    in the Forty     51st     Year of the Reign of our Sovereign Lady VICTORIA, by the Grace of God of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland, Queen, Defender of the Faith, &c., and in the Year of Our Lord One Thousand Eight Hundred and Eighty- seven personally appeared Augustus Henry John Des Barres at present of S t John's in the Central District of Newfoundland, Lieutenant Colonel late of Royal Artillery (initials ??? in left margin) and did acknowledge themselveshimself to be held and firmly bound to our said Lady the Queen, Her Heirs and Successors, in the penal Sum of one hundred and sixty - two thousand (initials ??? in left margin) Dollars, to be had, made and levied on theirhis Goods, Chattels and Effects, jointly and (initials ??? in left margin) ???, if Default is made in any of the conditions following :-

NOW THE CONDITION OF THIS OBLIGATION IS SUCH, that if the above bounden Augustus Henry John Des Barres   as Administrator       of the Estate and Effects of    Isabella Des Barres                  late of Walmer Kent England deceased, do make, or cause to be made, a just, true, and perfect inventory of all and singular the Goods, Credits and Effects of the said deceased, which have or shall come to the hands, possession, or knowledge of him        the said Augustus Henry John Des Barres   as such Administrator      or to the hands or possession of any other person, or persons, for   him        and the same so made do exhibit, or cause to be exhibited, in the Supreme Court of Newfoundland, at or before the          11    th   day of    May          next ensuing the date hereof ; and the said Goods, Chattels, Credits and Effects, and all other the Goods, Chattels, Credits and Effects of the said deceased, at the time of his    death, or which at any time afterwards shall come into the hands or possession of him the said Augustus Henry J DesBarresor to the hands or possession of any other person or persons for him shall well and truly administer according to Law, and further shall make, or ensure to be made, a just and true account of his----------------
said Administration, on or before the      11th          day of      November-------------------
which will be in the Year of Our Lord One Thousand Eight Hundred and Eighty-     Eight and     and afterwards from time to time as he   shall be lawfully required.   And all the rest, residue, and remainder of the said Goods, Chattels, Credits and Effects, which shall be found remaining upon the said Administration Account, the same being examined and allowed by the said Supreme Court of Newfoundlandland, shall and do pay and dispose of in due course of Administration, or in such a mannner as the said Court shall direct ; then this obligation to be void and of no effect, or else to be and remain in full force and virtue.

   To Wit.       }          late of Walmer Kent England widow
deceased, died with ---- a Will; and that  I   will well and truly administer all and every the Goods of the said deceased and pay her debts, so far as her    Goods will extend; and that  I  will exhibit a true, full and perfect Inventory of the said Goods of the deceased, and render a true account of my Administration into the Registry of the said Court, within six months from the date hereof, or when I    shall be thereunto lawfully required ; and that the whole of the Goods, Rights, Chattels, Assets, Credits and Effects of the said deceased which she died possessed of, within the jurisdiction of this Court, do not, according to the best of my knowledge, judgment and belief, amount to the the value of Eighty one thousand          dollars.
