AFFIDAVIT.

You shall swear that you believe this to be the true last Will and Testament of Thomas Buckley late of St. John's in the Central  District of Newfoundland    Cooper deceased

You shall swear that you will pay all the Debts and Legacies of the Deceased, so far as the Goods shall extend and the Law shall bind you; and that you will exhibit a true, full, and perfect Inventory of all and every the Goods, Rights and Credits of the deceased, together with a just and true account into the Registry of the Supreme Court of New- foundland, when you shall be lawfully called thereto;     And you shall further swear that the whole of the Goods, Rights, Chattels, Assets, Credits, and Effects of the said   Thomas Buckley     deceased, and of which            he        died possessed, do not, according to the best of your knowledge, judgment and belief, amount to the value of     two     thousand four hundred           Dollars

So help you God.

The Petition of Catherine Buckley of St John's Widow

Humbly Sheweth

That Petitioners husband Thomas Buckley of St John's aforesaid Cooper died on or about the 21st day of March A D 1886 having previously made his last Will and Tes tament which is hereto annexed and which has been duly proved on the affidavit of John Sullivan of St John's aforesaid Sub Inspector of Police
That the said deceased appointed your petitioner executrix,
That the said Thomas Buckley was at the time of his death possessed of property of the probable value of Sixteen hundred dollars
That no probate to said will or letters of administration to said Estate has been taken out or applied for
Your petitioner therefore prays that Probate to said Will be granted to her and as in duty bound she will ever pray.

of St John's Sub-Inspector of Police maketh oath and saith that on the          tenth     day of December A. D. one thousand eight hundred and eighty   five          at St John's    -----------------    he, this Deponent, was present and did see Thomas Buckley                              late of St John's Cooper          the Testator named in the paper writing hereto annexed, duly sign, publish and declare the said annexed paper writing as and for his last Will and Testament, in the presence of this Deponent and of  James Buckley the other subscribing witness thereto. That Deponent and said James Buckley                            then and there signed their names to such Will as such witnesses, in the presence of the said Testator and of each other

and that at the time of the said execution of the said Will the said Testat or was of sound and disposing mind, memory and understanding to the best of Deponent's knowledge and belief.

I hereby will and bequeath to my dear wife Catherine Buckley all my worldly goods and Posessions. whatsoever to have and hold during the term of her natural life. After which I will that the same be equally divided between my two sons John and James Buckley with the following reservation, that is to say that within three months after my death the following bequests shall be Paid out of my estate to the Persons and for the Purposes hereafter mentioned
To the Reverned Michael Harris the Sum of fifteen Pounds Currency to be applied to the benefit of the orphans of Villa Nova
To the Lady Superior of St Michaels Orphanage Belvidere the Sum of fifteen Pounds Currency to be applied for the Benefit Of the orphans of that institution
To the Revd John Scott five Pounds Currency
To the Revd Patrick Delaney five Pounds Currency
To the Revd Michael Fitzgerald five Pounds Currency for the purpose of Masses for the repose of my soul. and I appoint my said wife Catherine Buckley to be my sole Esecutirx
