In the Supreme Court In the matter of the Petition of
Certificate I certify that the notice written upon the other side hereof was posted in the office of the Chief Clerk and Registrar from the day of the date hereof until this date and that no caveat has been filed or posted in relation thereto.
Notice Three days after the date hereof application will be made to the Honourable the Supreme Court or to one of the Honourable the Judges thereof for letters of Probate to be granted to the Executors named in the Will of the late James A. Scott of St. John's, Watchmaker.
Supreme Court of Newfoundland Sworn before me at J. R. McNeily
This is the Last Will and Testament of me, James A. Scott of St. John's, Watchmaker. First: I devise and bequeath to my wife Ada Louisa Scott, recognizing her fidelity and uniform goodness to me, the Dwelling House in which I reside, with the land upon which it is built and the outhouses and flake with the land upon which they are erected and all the household furniture in said house of every description: to be held by her to her separate and independent use, free from the control of any person whatsoever. Second: I bequeath to my said wife the sum of Three Hundred Pounds currency to be also held by her to her separate and independent use. Third: To my brother George, the piece of land lying to the Southward of the land and Dwelling House bequeathed to my wife aforesaid, reserving however thereout a lane ten feet wide between the Southern End of Dwelling House and Stable and said piece is devised to my said brother. Fourth: To my Father and Mother as tenants-in-common, I devise my house occupied by Msr? Payne situate on Lazy Bank. Fifth: After the payment of all my debts, I bequeath to my brother William and my sisters the whole of the residue of any Estate, share and share alike; it being understood however that the payment to my wife of the Three Hundred Pounds mentioned in the Second Section of this my Will shall be a first charge upon my Estate before any division shall be made between my sisters and brother. Sixth: I appoint my wife and my friend Captain John Green as Executors of this my last Will. Signed, Published and Isabella Green
As a Codicil to my Last Will written upon the first and second pages of this paper, I appoint my brother George as an Executor with my wife in substitution for Captain John Green who is in ill health and I hereby revoke the Sixth Section of my said Will so far only as the appointment of Captain John Green as an Executor is concerned, ratifying and confirming all the rest of my said Will. 16th April 1886 Signed, published and declared Isabella Green

SUPREME COURT OF NEWFOUNDLAND St. John's J. R. McNeily of St. John's, Barrister at Law, maketh oath and saith that on the 16th day of April A.D. one thousand eight hundred and eighty six at St. John's he, this Deponent, was present and did see James A. Scott, late of St. John's, Watchmaker, the Testator named in the paper writing hereto annexed, duly sign, publish and declare the said annexed paper writing as and for a Codicil to his last Will and Testament in the presence of this Deponent and of Isabella Green, the other subscribing witness thereto. That Deponent and said Isabella Green then and there signed their names to such SWORN BEFORE ME at St. John's, in J. R. McNeily Geo. J. Adams
NEWFOUNDLAND AFFIDAVIT. You shall swear that you believe this to be the true last Will and Testament of James A. Scott, late of Saint John's in the Central District of Newfoundland, Watchmaker, deceased. You shall swear that you will pay all the Debts and Legacies of the Deceased, so far as the Goods shall extend and the Law shall bind you; and that you will exhibit a true, full, and perfect Inventory of all and every the Goods, Rights and Credits of the deceased, together with a just and true account into the Registry of the Supreme Court of Newfoundland, when you shall be lawfully called thereto: And you shall further swear that the whole of the Goods, Rights, Chattels, Assets, Credits, and Effects of the said James A. Scott, deceased, and of which he died possessed, do not, according to the best of your knowledge, judgment and belief, amount to the value of Twelve Thousand Two Hundred Dollars. So help you God. Sworn before me, at St. John's,
