To: Prescott Emerson of St. John's in the
Central District of Newfoundland,
Chief Clerk and Registrar of the
Supreme Court of Newfoundland

Greeting:
By virtue of the power and authority vested in us by an Act of Parliament of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland passed in the Reign of His late Majesty King George the Fourth, entitled "An act for the better administration of Justice in Newfoundland and for other purposes", we do by these presents constitute and appoint you the said Prescott Emerson to be Guardian of the Estate of May Norris daughter Edward Norris late of St. John's aforesaid, Master Mariner, deceased.

In testimony whereof we have caused the Seal of the said Supreme Court to be hereunto affixed this Seventh day of July A.D. 1886 and in the fiftieth year of Her Majesty's Reign.
