To Prescott Emerson of St. John's in the Central District of Newfoundland, Chief Clerk & Registrar of Supreme Court, Greeting,

By virtue of the power and authority vested in us by an Act of the Parliament of the United Kingdom of Great Britain, and Ireland, passed in the Reign of His late Majesty King George the Fourth, entitled "An Act for the better administration of Justice in Newfoundland, and for other purposes": We do by these Presents constitute and appoint you, the said Prescott Emerson to be Guardian and Keeper of the Person and Estate of Nathan Hussey, son of Absalom Hussey, late of Camp Islands, Labrador, Planter, deceased; You having first given Bond in the sum of _________________ dollars of lawful money of Newfoundland, well and truly to perform and discharge all the duties which belong to you as Guardian and Keeper of the Person and Estate of the said Infant according to the order and course observed in such cases in England.
IN TESTIMONY WHEREOF we have caused the Seal of the said Supreme Court to be hereto affixed this 20^th day of August in the Year of Our Lord One Thousand Eight Hundred and Eighty six and is the 50^th Year of Her Majesty's Reign.
