Little, Assistant Judges of the Supreme Court of Newfoundland To Prescott Emerson of Saint Johns in the Central District of Newfoundland, Chief Clerk and Registrar of the Supreme Court of Newfoundland, Greeting By virtue of the power and authority vested in us by an Act of the Parliament of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland, passed in the Reign of His late Majesty King George the Fourth, entitled "An Act for the better administration of justice in Newfoundland and for other purposes", We do by these presents constitute and appoint you, the said Prescott Emerson to be Guardian of the Estate of Frederick Martin Hall, son of Martin Luther Hall and Isabella Hall of Liverpool, England. (P.E.) In Testimony whereof we have caused the Seal of the said Supreme Court to be hereunto affixed this 2nd day of February in the year of Our Lord one thousand eight hundred and eighty six and in the forty ninth year of Her Majesty's reign.
