AFFIDAVIT.

You shall swear that you believe this to be the true last Will and Testament of Elizabeth Doyle, late of St. John's, Widow, deceased.
You shall swear that you will pay all the Debts and Legacies of the Deceased, so far as the Goods shall extend and the Law shall bind you; and that you will exhibit a true, full and perfect Inventory of all and every the Goods, Rights and Credits of the deceased, together with a just and true account into the Registry of the Supreme Court of Newfoundland, when you shall be lawfully called thereto: And you shall further swear that the whole of the Goods, Rights, Chattels, Assets, Credits, and Effects of the said Elizabeth Doyle, deceased, and of which she died possessed, do not, according to the best of your knowledge, judgment and belief, amount to the value of three thousand five hundred Dollars.
So help you God.

I certify that the notice on the other side hereof written was posted in the office of the Chief Clerk and Registrar on the day of the date thereof and has remained there until this date and that no caveat or other objection has been entered thereto.

Notice
After three days, application will be made to the Honorable the Supreme Court or one of the Honorable the Judges thereof for Probate to the Will of the late Elizabeth Doyle of St. John's, Widow, to be granted to the Reverend Patrick Delaney, Roman Catholic Clergyman, Executor of said Will.

In the name of God, Amen.
I, Elizabeth Doyle of St. John's, widow, do make and publish this as and for my last Will and Testament.
First. I direct that all of my just debts, funeral and testamentary expenses shall be paid.
Secondly. I give, devise and bequeath to my son ???????Patrick Doyle the sum of one hundred and fifty pounds currency.
Thirdly. To my daughter Catherine Doyle I give and bequeath the sum of one hundred and fifty pounds currency, and in case neither of the above mentioned children do turn up or can be found within two years from my death, the bequest allotted to them by me shall be handed over to the Roman Catholic Bishop of St. John's to be distributed by him amongst the charitable administrations (Roman Catholic) of his Diocese.
Fourth. I give devise and bequeath to Ellen Morris - the good woman who has charge of me and who
kindly attends to all my wants - the sum of one hundred pounds currency for her sole and absolute benefit.
Fifth. To my executor hereinafter named I give and bequeath the sum of fifty pounds currency, in trust to pay the same for the use and benefit of the Order of the Convent of Mercy of St. John's (Military ???)
Sixth. To my said executor, I give and bequeath the sum of fifty pounds currency in trust to pay the same for the use and benefit of the Roman Catholic Orphanage at Belvidere, near St. John's.
The residue of my property, I give, devise and bequeath to my said Executor to be distributed by him (unreadable - according?)
to his own prudence and discretion. Lastly. I do hereby nominate and appoint the Reverend Patrick Delaney of St. John's, executor to this my last Will and do hereby revoke and annul all former and other Wills by me made.
Signed by the said Elizabeth Doyle in our
presence as and for her last Will and
Testament who in her presence and at
her request and in presence of each
other have hereto set our hand as
witnesses at St. John's aforesaid, this Elizabeth her X mark Doyle
twenty eighth day of November,
Anno Domini 1886.

TO WIT }
Patrick J. Delaney of St. John's, Roman Catholic Priest, maketh oath and saith that on the twenty-eighth day of November A.D. one thousand eight hundred and eighty five at Saint John's he, this Deponent was present and did see Elizabeth Doyle late of Saint John's, the Testatrix named in the paper writing hereunto annexed duly sign (by making her mark) publish and declare the said annexed paper writing as and for her last Will and Testament, in the presence of this Deponent and of William Crotty, the other subscribing witness thereto. That Deponent and said William Crotty then signed their names to such Willthe said William Crotty by affixing his mark thereto as such witnesses, in the presence of the said Testatrix and of each other. That previously to the said Will being so signed as aforesaid, by the said Testatrix and the said witnesses, it was read over to, and approved of by the said Testatrix in the
presence of Deponent and the said William Crotty and that at the time of the said execution of the said Will the said Testatrix was of sound and disposing mind, memory and understanding, to the best of Deponent's knowledge and belief.

John's aforesaid, this 2nd P. J. Delaney
day of March A.D. One
