Supreme Court of Newfoundland Central District Sworn before me, at St. John's, the William his X mark Corcoran
1886 Estate of William Corcoran Dated 7th April 1886 Admin___ granted to Sureties Estate sworn under $200.00
To the Honorable the Supreme Court The Petition of William Corcoran of St. John's in the said Island Humbly Sheweth That William Corcoran, formerly of St. John's aforesaid, Carpenter, died there in or about the month of January Anno Domini 1869 intestate. That his wife died before him. That he left him surviving seven children namely Ellen, now the wife of Martin Sinnott of St. John's, laborer. Patrick who is since deceased. James now resident in St. John's. Elizabeth who was married to one Joseph Widdicombe but is now a widow. William your petitioner. Richard who is now resident in Boston in the United States of America and Thomas who is now resident in the Dominion of Canada. That the said Ellen and her husband Martin Sinnott, and the said James and Elizabeth have signed the paper writing hereto annexed consenting that administration of the Estate of the said deceased be granted to your petitioner. That the said deceased William Corcoran died possessed of property situate within the Jurisdiction of this Honorable Court of the probable value of about Two hundred dollars. That no probate or administration to his estate has been hitherto granted. Your petitioner therefore prays that administration to the Estate of the said deceased William Corcoran may be granted unto him and as in duty bound he will every pray &c, &c, &c.

Chief Clerk of the Supreme Court from the day of the date thereof to this date and that no caveat or other objection thereto has been filed or entered. Otto Emerson
Notice After three days application will be made to the Supreme Court or to one of the Honorable the Judges thereof for letters of administration to the Estate and Effects of William Corcoran, formerly of St. John's, Carpenter, deceased, to be granted to his son William Corcoran.
Supreme Court of Newfoundland Be it Remembered, That on this 7th day of April in the Forty Ninth Year of the Reign of our Sovereign Lady VICTORIA, by the Grace of God of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland, Queen, Defender of the Faith, &c, and in the Year of Our Lord One Thousand Eight Hundred and Eighty-six personally appeared William Corcoran of St. John's in the Central District, Fisherman, Michael Dea of same place, Farmer and James Sage of same place, Cabman, and did acknowledge themselves to be held and firmly bound to our said Lady the Queen, her Heirs and Successors, in the penal Sum of Four hundred Dollars, to be had, made and levied on his Goods, Chattels and Effects, jointly and severally, if Default is made in any of the conditions following:-- NOW THE CONDITION OF THIS OBLIGATION IS SUCH, That if the above bounden William Corcoran as Administrator of the Estate and Effects of William Corcoran late of St. John's, Carpenter, deceased, do make, or cause to be made, a just, true, and perfect Inventory of all and singular the Goods, Credits and Effects of the said deceased, which have or shall come to the hands, possession, or knowledge of him the said William Corcoran as such Administrator or to the hands or possession of any other person, or persons for him and the same so made do exhibit, or cause to be exhibited, in the Supreme Court of Newfoundland, at or before the 7th day of October next ensuing the date hereof; and the said Goods, Chattels, Credits and Effects, and all other the Goods, Chattels, Credits and Effects of the said deceased, at the time of his death, or which at any time afterwards shall come into the hands or possession of him the said William Corcoran or to the hands or possession of any other person or persons for him shall well and truly administer according to Law, and further shall make, or cause to be made, a just and true account of his said Administration, on or before the Seventh day of April which will be in the Year of Our Lord One Thousand Eight Hundred and Eighty-seven and afterwards from time to time as he shall be lawfully required. And all the rest, residue, and remainder of the said Goods, Chattels, Credits and Effects, which shall be found remaining upon the said Administration Account, the same being examined and allowed by the said Supreme Court of Newfoundland, shall and do pay and dispose of in due course of Administration, or in such a manner as the said Court shall direct; then this obligation to be void and of no effect, or else to be and remain in full force and virtue.
