Supreme Court of Newfoundland. Be it remembered, That on this 25th day of May in the 48th year of the reign of our Sovereign Lady VICTORIA, by the Grace of God of the United King-dom of Great Britain and Ireland, Queen, Defender of the Faith, &c., and in the year of our Lord One Thousand Eight Hundred and Eighty five Personally appeared William Ruxton of St Johns Engineer James Rodger of same Clerk and Joseph Wilson of same place Confectioner and did acknowledge themselves to be held and firmly bound to our said Lady the Queen, Her Heirs and Successors, in the penal sum of Four thousand five hundred andtwelve Now the Condition of this Obligation is such That if the above bounden William Ruxton shall duly and faithfully act as Guardian of the Estate and Effects of William Ruxton and Catherine Ruxton of William Ruxton Signed and Sealed } James Rodger

To the Honourable the Supreme Court of Newfoundland or one of the Honourable the Judges thereof The Petition of William Ruxton of Saint Johns Engineer Humbly Sheweth That William Ruxton and Catherine Ruxton Children of petitioner of the ages respectivelyof three years and one year are Entitled to and possessed of the Sum of five hundred and Sixty four pounds Currency Equal to two thousand two hundred and fifty six dollars. That the said amount is now deposited at interest in the Commercial Bank of Newfoundland in the names of the said Children. Petitioner therefore prays that he may be appointed guardian of the Estate of said Children according to law William Ruxton
