Southern District I do swear I believe Edward J Roche late of Great Placentia in the Southern District of Newfoundland Telegraph Opera(tor) deceased died with --------------- a Will; and that I will well and trul(y Ad-)minister all and every the Goods of the said deceased, and pay his De(bts as) far as his Goods will extend; and that I will exhibit a true, ful(l and) perfect Inventory of the said Goods of the deceased, and render a true acco(unt of) my Administration into the Registry of the said Court, within (Six) months from the date hereof, or when I shall be thereunto lawfully re(quired) and that the whole of the goods, ri(ghts,) chattels, assets, credits and effects (of) said decease(d) which he (died) possessed of, within the jurisdicti(on of this Court.) ????? __de value (of seven thousand dollars) judgment Sworn before me, at Placentia, } T. Supreme Court of Newfoundland BE IT REMEMBERED, That on this 26th day of August in the forty ninth Year of the Reign of Our Sovereign Lady VICTORIA, by the Grace of God, of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland, Queen, Defender of the Faith, &c, and in the Year of Our Lord One Thousand Eight Hundred and five personally appeared Thomas O'Reilly of Placentia in the Southern District Stipendiary Magistrate Michael A Clancy of same place Parish Priest and Neil McKendrick of same place Medical Doctor and did acknowledge themselves to be held and firmly bound to our said Sovereign Lady the Queen, Her Heirs and Succes-sors, in the penal Sum of Fourteen thousand dollars to be had, made, and levied on their Goods, Chattels, and Effects jointly and severally if de-fault is made in any of the Conditions following:--- NOW THE CONDITION of this Obligation is such, that if the above bounden Thomas O Reilly as Administrator cum testament annexo of the Estate and Effects of Edward J. Roche late of Placentia aforesaid deceased, do make, or cause to be made, a just, true and perfect Inven-tory of all and singular, the Goods, Credits and Effects of the said deceased, which have or shall come to the hands, possession, or know-ledge of him the said Thomas O Reilly as such Adminstrator ---------------------------- or to the hands or possession of any other person or persons, for him and the same so made do exhibit, or cause to be exhibited, into the Supreme Court of Newfoundland, at or before the 26th day of February next ensuing the date hereof; and the said Goods, Chattels, Credits and Effects, and all other the Goods, Chattels, Credits and Effects of the said deceased, at the time of his death, or which at any time afterwards shall come to the hands or possession of him the said Thomas O Reilly ---------------------------------- or to the hands or possession of any other person or persons for him shall well and truly admin-ister according to Law, and further shall make, or cause to be made, a just and true account of his said Administration, on or before the 26th day of August which will be in the year of our Lord One Thousand Eight Hundred andEighty Six and afterwards from time to time as he shall be lawfully required. And all the rest, residue, and remainder of the said Goods, Chattels, Credits and Effects, which shall be found remaining upon the said Ad-ministration account, the same being examined and allowed by the said Supreme Court of Newfoundland, shall and do pay and dispose of in a due course of Administration, or in such manner as the said Court shall direct;---then this Obligation to be void and of no effect or else to be and remain in full force and virtue. To The Honorable the Supreme Court of The Petition of Thomas O'Reilly of Placentia in the Southern District of the said Island Stipendiary Magistrate Humbly Sheweth That Edward J Roche formerly of Placentia aforesaid Telegraph Operator ------ died there on or about the eighth day of April last past, having first made and executed his last will and testament as hereto annexed and which will has been duly proved in common form. That said Testator died possessed of property situate within the jurisdiction of the honourable Court of the probable value of about Seven thousand ----------------- dollars. That he left him surviving two sons namely Edward Patrick aged abut eleven years and John Thomas aged about ten years. That his wife the mother of the said Children died before the said Testator. That in and by his said last will and Testament he nominated and appointed William P. Walsh of St. Johns and Denis Dooley of same place as Executors thereof. That the said William P. Walsh and Denis Dooley have both renounced the said Executorship and refused to accept the trusty(?) of the said Will. That your petitioner is the brother of the mother of the above named children Page 2 under take the office and duty of Administrator with the will annexed of the Estate and effects of the said Testator. Roche, being in my sound mind and senses, do give and bequeath to my two Sons, Edward Patrick Roche and John Thomas Roche, all my household property, and also all profit arising therefrom for their use and benefit, also one House situated in Kings Road St Johns after the death of my Sisters Catherine and Bridget Roche, the said House that was formerly leased to Maurice Kearney.
