AFFIDAVIT.

You shall swear that you believe this to be the true last Will and Testament of William Watson McNeil late of St. John's in the Island of Newfoundland Chemist and Druggist

You shall swear that you will pay all the Debts and Legacies of the Deceased, so far as the Goods shall extend and the Law shall bind you; and that you will exhibit a true, full and perfect Inventory of all and every the Goods, Rights and Credits of the deceased, together with a just and true account into the Registry of the Supreme Court of Newfoundland, when you shall be lawfully called thereto: And you shall further swear that the whole of the Goods, Rights, Chattels, Assets, Credits and Effects of the said William Watson McNeil deceased and of which he died possessed, do not, according to the best of your knowledge, judgment and belief, amount to the value of Three thousand five hundred -------------------------------- Dollars

So help you GOD.

          After three days from the date hereof appli-cation will be made to the Honourable the Supreme Court of Newfoundland or to one of the Honour-able Judges thereof for probate of the will of William Watson McNeil in the Central District Chemist and Druggist deceased to be granted to John McNeil and Allan Stark both of St John's the executors named in the said will

I, William Watson McNeil of Saint John's Newfoundland being of Sound mind and understanding do hereby make my last will and testament.
I bequeath to my mother - Margaret McNeil one half of all I possess. - The proceeds of one half of my estate to be invested in some Safe investment or any other to have the interest thereso during the course of her life & afterwards the principal to be divided equally between my three sisters - Amanda Clement and Mornain (?) McNeil. I leave or bequeath to Mary the wife of my brother John McNeil the other half of my estate for the use of herself & the children of John & Mary McNeil -
I appoint Allan Stark and John McNeil as my executors & I give to them my estate in trust for the purposes above mentioned

G.J.A.          oath and saith that on the thirteenththirtieth day of March A.D. one thousand eight hundred and eighty five at St John's aforesaid he, this Deponent, was present and did see William Watson McNeil late of St John's aforesaid ------- the Testator named in the paper writing hereto annexed, duly sign, publish and declare the said annexed paper writing as and for his last Will and Testament, in the presence of this Deponent and of The Honourable Charles Crowdy -------- of St John's Surgeon the other subscribing witness thereto. That Deponent and said Charles Crowdy as such witnesses, in the presence of the said Testator and of each other ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------- and that at the time of the said execution of the said Will the said Testator was of sound and disposing mind, memory and understanding, to the best of Deponent's knowledge and belief.

The Petition of John McNeil of St John's in the said Island chemist and druggist and of Allan Stark of the same place and occupation

Humbly Sheweth

                    That
William Watson McNeil late of St John's in the said Island Chemist and Druggist departed this life on the thirtieth day of March last having previously made and published his last will and testa-ment hereto annexed.
                    That
the Estate of the said late William Watson McNeil at the time of his decease did not exceed the sum of Three thousand ------------------------------------------ dollars in value.
                    That
no probate of said will or letter of ad-ministration of said estate has been granted.
                    Your
petitioners therefore pray that the said will of the said late William Watson McNeil be admitted to probate and that your said petitioners be en-trusted with the execution thereof
