Patrick Maher Estate of Patrick Maher 1885 Southern District We do swear that we believe Patrick Maher late of Flower's Cove aforesaid Planter deceased died without a Will; and that we will well and truly ad-minister all and every the Goods of the said deceased, and that we will exhibit a true, full, and perfect Inventory of the said Goods of the deceased, and render a true account of our Administration into the Registry of the said Court within six months from the date hereof, or when we shall be thereunto lawfully required; and that the whole of the goods, rights, chattels, assets, credits and effects of the said deceased, which he died possessed of, within the jurisdiction of this Court, do not, according to the best of our knowledge, judgment and belief, amount to the value of Five hundred dollars Sworn before me, at Flowers Cove } Samuel B. BE IT REMEMBERED, That on this 14th --- --- day of September in the 49th Year of the Reign of Our Sovereign Lady VICTORIA, by the Grace of GOD, of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland, Queen, Defender of the Faith, &c., and in the Year of Our Lord One Thousand Eight Hundred and Eighty five personally appeared Samuel B Spence of Harbor Grace Trader William P. Taylor of Carbonear Collector of Customs in Flower's Cove Michael Lawless of Flowers Cove Planter and Thomas Sinclair of same place Planter and did acknowledge themselves to be held and firmly bound to our said Sovereign Lady the Queen, Her Heirs and Succes-sors, in the penal Sum of Eight hundred and fifty dollars ------- to be had, made, and levied on their Goods, Chattels, and Effects jointly and severally if default is made in any of the Conditions following:--- NOW THE CONDITION of this Obligation is such, that if the above bounden Samuel B. Spence and William P. Taylor as Administrators ---------------------------------------------- of the Estate and Effects of Patrick Maher late of Flowers Cove Planter deceased, do make, or cause to be made, a just true and perfect Inven-tory of all and singular, the Goods, Credits and Effects of the said deceased, which have or shall come to the hands, possession, or knowledge of them the said Samuel B. Spense and William P Taylor as such Administrators or to the hands or possession of any other person or persons, for them and the same so made do exhibit, or cause to be exhibited, into the Supreme Court of Newfoundland, at or before the 14th day of March next ensuing the date hereof; and the said Goods, Chattels, Credits and Effects, and all other the Goods, Chattels, Credits and Effects of the said deceased, at the time of his death, or which at any time afterwards shall come to the hands or possession of them the said Samuel B Spence and William P. Taylor --------------------------- or to the hands or possession of any other person or persons for them shall well and truly admin-ister according to Law, and further shall make, or cause to be made, a just and true account of their said Administration, on or before the 14th day of September which will be in the year of our Lord One Thousand Eight Hundred and Eighty Six and afterwards from time to time as they shall be lawfully required. And all the rest, residue, and remainder of the said Goods, Chattels, Credits and Effects, which shall be found remaining upon the said Ad-ministration account, the same being examined and allowed by the said Supreme Court of Newfoundland, shall and do pay and dispose of in a due course of Administration, or in such manner as the said Court shall direct;---then this Obligation to be void and of no effect or else to be and remain in full force and virtue. To the Honorable the Supreme The Petition of Thomas Sinclair Michael Lawless and Abraham Chambers Humbly Sheweth That Petitioner's late Father in-law Patrick Maher died on the twenty Sixth day of October Anno Domini one thousand eight hundred and Eighty two leaving him surviving three daughters viz: Emily married to Abraham Churchill Bridget married to Michael Lawless and Mary Jane married to Thomas Sinclair - That Petitioners believe the said Patrick Maher made his last Will and Testament which is in the possession of his Widow Jane Maher - Petitioners therefore pray that your Lordship will grant a Citation upon the Said Widow to produce the Said Will and that in default of the production of Said Will Administration to the Said Estate may be granted. And as in duty bound will Ever pray &c
