Supreme Court of Newfoundland. I do swear that I believe Robert Maddock late of Carbonear in the Northern District Merchant deceased died without a Will; and that I will well and truly ad-minister all and every the Goods of the said deceased, and pay his Debts so far as his Goods will extend; and that I will exhibit a true, full, and perfect Inventory of the said Goods of the deceased, and render a true account of my Administration into the Registry of the said Court, within Six months from the date hereof, or when I shall be thereunto lawfully required; and that the whole of the goods, rights, chattels, assets, credits and effects of the said deceased, which he died possessed of, within the jurisdiction of this Court, do not, according to the best of my knowledge, judgment and belief, amount to the value of Twenty Eight thousand five hundred dollars Sworn before me, at Carbonear, }

Notice After two days application will be made to the Honourable the Supreme Court on Northern Circuit at Harbor Grace or the Honourable the Presiding Judge thereof for Letters of Administration of the Estate of Robert Maddock late of Carbonear merchant deceased to be granted to Amelia Maddock Widow of dceased
Supreme Court of Newfoundland BE IT REMEMBERED, That on this thirteenth day of May in the Forty Eight Year of the Reign of Our Sovereign Lady VICTORIA, by the Grace of GOD, of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland, Queen, Defender of the Faith, &c., and in the Year of Our Lord One Thousand Eight Hundred and Eighty five personally appeared Ameilia Maddock of Carbonear in the Northern District Widow John Maddock of Harbor Grace Merchant and William Badcock of Carbonear Accountant and did acknowledge themselves to be held and firmly bound to our said Sovereign Lady the Queen, Her Heirs and Succes-sors, in the penal Sum of Fifty seven thousand dollars to be had, made, and levied on their Goods, Chattels, and Effects jointly and severally if de-fault is made in any of the Conditions following:--- NOW THE CONDITION of this Obligation is such, that if the above bounden Amelia Maddock of Carbonear Widow as Administratrix of the Estate and Effects of Robert Maddock late of Carbonear in the Northern District Signed and Sealed in the } Amelia Maddock (Note: Seal affixed to the right of each signature.)
To the Honourable the Supreme Court on Northern Circuit at Harbor Grace or to the Honourable the Presiding Judge thereof The Petition of Amelia Maddock of Carbonear Widow Humbly Sheweth That Robert Maddock late of Carbonear merchant died there on the Second day of April last intestate leaving him Surviving your petitioner (his widow) and Eight Children namely (1) Sophy wife of Albert D. Boyle of Carbonear (2) Joseph Guy (3) Sarah S (4) John R (5) Margaret C (6) Robert H (7) Bertha Elizabeth and (8) Laura L. the five children last named being under the age of twenty one years Page 2 the time of his death of the probable value of Twenty Eight Thousand Dollars That no administration of the Estate of Said deceased has been granted to any person Petitioner therefore prays that administration of the Estate of Said deceased may be granted to her And as in duty bound She will Ever pray &c Dated at Carbonear this twelfth day of May AD 1885 Amelia Maddock
