Carbonear } Supreme Court of Newfoundland I do swear that I believe William Joyce late of Carbonear in the Northern District Planter deceased died without a Will; and that I will well and truly ad-minister all and every the Goods of the said deceased, and pay his Debits so far as his Goods will extend; and that I will exhibit a true, full, and perfect Inventory of the said Goods of the deceased, and render a true account of my Administration into the Registry of the said Court, within six months from the date hereof, or when I shall be thereunto lawfully required; and that the whole of the goods, rights, chattels, assets, credits and effects of the said deceased, which he died possessed of, within the jurisdiction or this Court, do not, according to the best of my knowledge, judgment and belief, amount to the value of Three thousand two hundred dollars Sworn before me, at Carbonear }
After two days application will be made to the Honourable the Supreme Court on Circuit at Harbor Grace or to the Honourable the Presiding Judge thereof for Letters of Administration of the Estate of William Joyce of Carbonear Planter deceased to be granted to Robert Joyce of Carbonear Planter brother of deceased or to Such other person as may be appointed
To the Honourable the Supreme Court of Northern Circuit at Harbor Grace or the Honourable the Presiding Judge thereof The Petition of Robert Joyce late of Carbonear Planter Humbly Sheweth That William Joyce late of Carbonear Planter died there on the third day of June AD 1883 intestate leaving him Surviving his widow Elizabeth and Seven Children namely (1) George (2) William (3) Minnie (4) Selby (5) Albert (6) Maggie and (7) Bessie all of whom are under the age of twenty one years That said deceased had a fixed place of abode within the jurisdiction of this Honourable Court to wit at Carbonear aforesaid and was at the time of his death possessed of property of the probable value of three thousand dollars That no administration of Page 2 the Estate of Said deceased has been granted to any person. BE IT REMEMBERED, That on this Thirteenth day of May in the Forty Eighth Year of the Reign of Our Sovereign Lady VICTORIA, by the Grace of GOD, of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland, Queen, Defender of the Faith, &c., and in the Year of Our Lord One Thousand Eight Hundred and Eighy five personally appeared Robert Joyce of Carbonear in the Northern District Planter George E. Joyce of same place planter and Frederic T. Bemister of same place Accountant and did acknowledge themselves to be held and firmly bound to our said Sovereign Lady the Queen, Her Heirs and Succes-sors, in the penal Sum of Six thousand four hundred dollars to be had, made, and levied on their Goods, Chattels, and Effects jointly and severally if de-fault is made in any of the Conditions following:--- NOW THE CONDITION of this Obligation is such, that if the above bounded Robert Joyce ------------------- as Administrator ---------------------------------------------------- of the Estate and Effects of William Joyce ---- late of Carbonear Planter -------------- deceased, do make, or cause to be made, a just, true and perfect Inven-tory of all and singular, the Goods, Credits and Effects of the said deceased, which have or shall come to the hands, possession, or know-ledge of him the said Robert Joyce --- as such Administrator ------------------------------------------ or to the hands or possession of any other person or persons, for him and the same so made do exhibit, or cause to be exhibited, into the Supreme Court of Newfoundland, at or before the Thirteenth day of November next ensuing the date hereof; and the said Goods, Chattels, Credits and Effects, and all other the Goods, Chattels, Credits and Effects of the said deceased, at the time of his death, or which at any time afterwards shall come to the hands or possession of him the said Robert Joyce ----- Administrator or to the hands or possession of any other person or persons for him shall well and truly admin-ister according to Law, and further shall make, or cause to be made, a just and true account of his said Administration, on or before the 13th day of May which will be in the year of our Lord One Thousand Eight Hundred and Eighty five and afterwards from time to time as he shall be lawfully required. And all the rest, residue, and remainder of the said Goods, chattels, Credits and Effects, which shall be found remaining upon the said Ad-ministration account, the same being examined and allowed by the said Supreme Court of Newfoundland, shall and do pay and dispose of in a due course of Administration, or in such manner as the said Court shall direct;---then this Obligation to be void and of no effect or else to be and remain in full foce and virtue.
