To the Honourable the The petition of Laura W. Hayward of Saint Johns in the Island of Main(?) harbour(?) Humbly Sheweth That the Honorable John Hayward late of Saint Johns aforesaid formerly one of the Judges of your Honourable Court died on on or about the thirteenth instant with a will which is hereunto annexed marked A That at the time of the decease of said Honourable John Hayward he was possessed of property and effects of the probable value of forty thousand dollars That your petitioner was appoint-ed sole executrix of the will of the said late Honourable John Hayward Your petitioner therefore prays that your Honourable Court or one of the Honourable the Judges thereof will grant probate to the said will to your petitioner And as in duty bound will ever pray

This is the last Will and Testament of one John Hayward of Saint Johns Newfoundland formerly one of the Assistant Judges of the Supreme Court of that Colony - I give devise and bequeath all my lands, money, property and estates both real and personal of which I may die possessed or which I my Heirs, Executors or Administration may hereafter be entitled to - including all shares, stock, moneys invested or otherwise in the Bank of Montreal and moneys at interest and all other property and estate in Toronto and Manitoba, or elsewhere in the Dominion of Canada unto my Wife Laura W Hayward absolutely and for ever and to be used and disposed of as she may think proper save as to the sum of fifty dollars which I hereby bequeath to S Johns lodge - N. State of Tras (?) and accepted masons at St Johns in this Island of which I am a member - And I hereby appoint my said Wife Executrix of this my Will - Dated this 26th day of November 1884 and written by myself ---
